Meh. Need to sell my company and roll in it first. At least I can fit the whole family in the 911.... no such luxury in the MP4!

McLaren London were extremely helpful, and offered me a brand-new, unregistered model form their show room for barely over 185k - a steep saving over list, and really quite a bargain considering the same car today lists for 205k. I very nearly bought it (had they taken off 1k etra it would have been a deal), but as this was their final price I went for a Porsche instead (I know - not the same league, but hey). Astonishingly, *the same show room car* is still available from McLaren London almost four months later!
Is this the Black car you are referring to??

No the supernova silver one with dark rims and orange calipers. Stunning car in the flesh. Just nobody seems to want to buy it.

What kind of depreciation would you expect on a new car (now) after a year, given that the initial glut of cars took a hammering.

Assuming not big miles and you paid retail with typical spec and sold back to a dealer/ trade........... £70k to £75k

On the bright side, the 2nd year depreciation shouldn't be quite so bad.

12C has got to be an ok buy at £135k-£150k hasn't it?

I know a lot of the above has compared 458 vs 12C but what about looking at 12C vs SLR?

I'm told if you deal directly with McLaren you can get 40k off a new coupe, and 60k off a lightly used high spec car

This sounds a very stupid question. Do you mean the factory? If so, how?

I think he means dealing with one of the showrooms owned by McLaren rather than than a third party. Not sure if London is one of them?
