Granted, but at £130k they’re getting closer....
Not much they were 135k 5 years ago, so glacial depreciation doesn’t quite cover it!

I got out essentially flat comparing what I paid retail to what I was returned on SOR after a couple of years; think I was lucky; does feel like they're due to come off a bit - £150k+ feels like a lot for 6 year old 458 given how many there are and compared to what else is available at that level.

laughThere are threads and threads of such talk over the past 3 years but not much has changed at all....

I’d say they were a decent buy then...drive, enjoy, flip?

Then, yes.

Now? Perhaps if it was a good LHD car with the right history and bought at the right money. Can't see these £150k dealer cars doing as well as in the next 3 years as their equivalents have done in the previous 3 years; but then again don't see RHD dealer cars sitting much below £120k anytime soon (absent wider economic issues); I think the independent servicing network will help residuals once the warranties and servicing packs run off.

they are simply too sexy and still look modern to drop below £100k imo

You can buy a low mileage RHD car with cast iron provenance in red from a dealer right now at £130k if you turn up with pound notes. I’d buy that particular car if I wanted one.

Make a bid and you will be surprised how keen they are to move on overpriced aged stock which is only going one way the longer they hold on to it

I think you you’ll find they’ll not blink, certainly not yet. No way are main dealers going to start discounting at this time of the year, other than the usual £3-4K. Also there are less 458 Italians for sale then there were this time last year, although I don’t know what that indicates? To be honest i’ve decided to keep mine because I can’t find anything as a overall package to beat it. The latest toys just don’t really float my boat. If you fancy one, get it bought and enjoy it as life’s too short. If in a year or two’s time it’s worth £30k less then so what? Supercars are surely all about the fun and not the finances otherwise your eventually going to end up disappointed?

Quite the opposite. We have sold 3 in the last month and all at asking. Coupled with the fact these are one of the most requested Supercars I do no think the prices are going anywhere near £100k. Of course there is some old stock which is being discounted, but guess what it was not realistically priced to start with!

I’d love to snap up a 458 red cream spider for circa 150, I think they might just come down a little, not many people have that kind of money

Anyone think we will see the 100k RHD 458 anytime soon?

Never trust a salesman

Sold 3 at asking price ?
Given the current market and type of car, doesn't make sense.

Given how long they've seemed depreciation proof - if we do, I think that's the absolute proof that the bubble is over / the car market has crashed!

Yes.

Given there is the cat repair at sub £100k and a nice black LHD one a whisper over, I would think a non cat repair, RHD car will be around that level when the next sneeze of this market depression occurs.

If you are talking about the black car in Harlow: I owned it one, if not two, owners ago - surprised it's up for as much as it is.

I was offered £120k as a trade in against a 488 Spider for my 33k 2010 458 in rosso corsa/nero with all the desirable stuff fitted. That was some time ago (I didn't take it for a variety of reasons) and I'd say it is less now.
