I was indeed with a fair value on my R8 but I was trying to get better wheels for a reasonable price from them and someone else bought it at 120 apparently.

I’ve been looking at a fair few and it does seem to vary. I was also offered a car at £135k for £127k but it wasn’t really a car I wanted.

All the cars I’m looking at serious, I’m getting the same of we could do £1k as a gesture, so currently holding out as I’ve offered £5-£6 off and they are saying no.
So the story hasn't changed - spec is king.
Always is & always will be, you get what you pay for. Majority of people will have resale in mind when purchasing such a car, buy right and you know you’ll be better off further down the line.

I’m tracking these as I’d like an Italia or spider. Circa 109 cars listed on Autotrader March it’s now up to 138 and many cars seem to be sticking.

This spider seems, on the face of it, sensibly priced and makes many other cars now look way over the top. Interesting it’s with a Ferrari dealer too.

If its what it seems, the price looks very fair.

it sold within 3 hours of going live with registered crash damage on the ferrari system but not insurance. The actual dealership staff had a mishap so they bought it from the customer

yes i called up about it Saturday

needed a bumper wing and bonnet. I dont think it was that bothering given its miles etc but still not great value considering

I have been following the 458 market and all i have seen is people putting cars up and cars selling.

I dont think they will change to much but its not a bad time in the car game, even now. A Ferrari dealership told me they are flat out and left at 9pm friday night sorting enquirers etc

What spec/colours are you looking for Regy?

I thinks it’s like a bottle of fizzy drink shaken hard over the last 10 weeks and now opened. Main dealers going back only a week ago. Initial demand that could well fizzle out over the next few weeks. We are starting to see that in the property market. I’m not prepared to get caught up in it and happy to wait.

Not that I really want one but some really tempting and well priced 488s now appearing which are drawing me to go and test drive and compare.

Red 458 Italia, carbon seats, carbon dash and a bit of carbon outside. Low ish miles and Ferrari supplied

I am 95% ready to pull the pin on a car but hesitate for the exact reasons you say. A few are selling but many are not and perhaps the hype isn’t what we think or perhaps the 458 isn’t being bought because of the price point vs age and others are being bought like the 488 which offers great value. It will likely fizzle out as you say. The car I am intrested in I drove 4 hours to view this weekend and now they see I am Serious are turning the screws on a deal i.e if we could do such and such would you deposit today .

Main dealer, I am not saying they are desperate they just seem to be a bit more interested than they were

Oh dear, Ask to see the repair report on this car. I know the owner. The car has had over £80k of repairs including structural damage! I am fking surprised to see this on sale at a main dealer - the car should have been written off all day!

That's no surprise - now they see that you travelled quite some way to see the car you've been elevated from speculative buyer/possible tyre kicker to real buyer. They will be more active in pursuing you now to see if they can keep up the momentum and get a deal done before you get distracted by another car that may come on to the market.

This where you have the power to say "if you can do x, y and z, then I'll buy the car and give you a deposit today". It's my favourite part of the car buying process (and an opportunity to be a little cheeky with a bid, as the worst they can do is say no).

I went through all this earlier this year and picked up my 458 at the end of Feb - all I can say is that the search was fun, but owning and driving the car is so much better !! Get it bought and start enjoying it wink

I did buy an accidental repair Ferrari few years ago but that was very minor damage - literally a few front end body parts (like bumper and internal front end plastics). This one is pretty much rebuilt from front to middle!

It may be sold now but there was a very nice black 458 Spider with 24k miles on one of the owner forums last week for £125k

I looked at that car, it was at our local McLaren dealer, had come in as part ex for a 720. Wasn't a particularly nice car, lived life parked outside which had degraded many parts of the engine compartment. Just felt that it hadn't been looked after by the previous owner. It was at a very good price though compared to other spider's on the market. I think it ended up at Tom Hartley and sold quite quickly.

Not sure we are discussing the same car, this was a private sale. Black/black, white stitching HD62 plate. Looked extremely tidy in the photos.

This thread started off in 2013, is this the best you can do. Seems like the 458 is a good place to put your money.
