The £100K 458...
Discussion
Bought this new in 2014. If it needs it, it gets it. JCT techs always comment that it's the cleanest they see despite the 27,000 mostly euro trip miles it has done.
I'm 50. Available to purchase if you can wait till I cark it and you're prepared to dig my coffin up and prise the keys out of my cold.....dead........hand. ;-)
Isle of Mull last month.

Haha, I wouldn't take £250k for it. It's mine, it always will be and we've been on many adventures together. You don't sell your best friends out. ;-)Order66 said:

Indeed. Looks very reflective - a wrap? Or just the lighting. Either way - NICE!sparta6 said:

Nice to see you posting, Leg. Surprised you haven’t weighed in on the two recent threads re driving vs preserving mileage.
Too busy driving.Quite right
Not as much driving as usual but managed that trip to Scotland (Oban, Mull, Iona, Skye, Contin) with the Mrs. Nice and quiet it was too. Iona is absolutely stunning. Done a few track days in the Exige but no racing. :-(
TBH I've been focused on jobs round the house, jobs on the cars (big upgrade to the Exige and restoring my 67 Abarth mostly) and mountain biking. Sold the Esprit V8 this week too, goes tomorrow. Hmm, that creates a space in the garage.......
I'll end with my usual, 'buy one, drive it, enjoy it, sod the residuals, you're running out of time'. ;-)
Yes, well my timing wasn’t great. Bought a Portofino in January (addition to the 458 Spider and 599, not a replacement) with the specific aim of using it for European touring. Had a trip down to Amalfi and back via St Tropez all planned out for June (using some of your suggestions) but that obviously didn’t happen. Still, love the car and I’m sure it will get driven on the right hand side of the road before too long. Stay safe, as they say. Rgds to all
I’m looking into a yellow 458 at the moment, very good spec apart from not sure about racing harnesses n the carbon buckets look a bit of a hassle but I’d keep my R8 as my daily so no biggie.
Update to follow.
458 has to be the perfect F car. Modern looking and fast enough but not a turbo.

Been off PH for a while, got sick of dheads, 'cars are doomed' and 'how much will this be worth if I drive to the shop in it once a year' ste.

You are covering substantially more miles than myself
If you could only keep one, what one would it be ?
I currently own the 43k mileage Nero car mentioned in the recent Pistonheads article on the 458.
There were a lot of trade bids between 100-105k with a few willing to go a little higher but given it will still be worth roughly the same, I'd decided to just enjoy it for another 6 months.
After owning quite a few f-cars I must admit, other than perhaps buying the Spyder version, I'm not sure what else is needed - it is a cracking package.
I've test driven the 488 and found it a better car apart from the looks with the large air intakes and the engine. With fewer revs available, I just kept hitting the limiter.
The 360 and 458 are my favourite modern v8s with the 458 providing the much needed boost in performance to keep up with other modern stuff.

But, the Daley Thompson of my cars, the car thats good at everything, not amazing at anything, but just does the job nicely no matter what and therefore the best all rounder is probably.........981 Boxster S. There, I said it. I'll get my coat now.
But you would have to kill me, then kill me again and then try and prise the keys to the F12, 458, RS1600, Exige* and GL out of my cold dead, Yorkshire (thousands of years of tight fisted evolution, hands.
*Me and a mate just had the 460 Komotec kits fitted along with various other bits n bobs. Went for a ride in his yesterday (Mine's being finished off). Holy mother of God. :-0

I have fond memories of a proper night out with Daley and John Conteh, but this is not the correct forum for such anecdotes.
It doesn't matter what form the car or woman takes, we are all blessed to be surprised by something unexpected
