Manu, Ajay & Ninja already know this but the 360 with a TUBI sounds BLOODY FANTASTIC I just can't get over it. I know I said I wanted it to sound like Ninja's 355 but I never thought it would really. And it does! By Christ it does. Through the rev range it goes from thrummy through the 'machine gun' rat tat into a full blooded howl . Totally, totally awesome. That was a great time we had driving around Egham and we've just watched the video shot from Ninja' 355- even put a smile on Mrs 456's face so I'm not in the doghouse after all. Sorted.

I did Hatfield tunnel four times on the way home and I played it for a BMW driver who obviously loved it. I know it's bloody loud outside, but it was fine cruising on the motorway- hardly much louder than the stock exhaust. It starts howling at 3K,which is perfect since cruising revs are 3250+ so my drive home was accompanied by a quiet howl.

Yet again a fantastic time guys. Really, really enjoyed it and the result is just immense.

God I'm happy. Manu & Ajay, thank you so much. ScuderiaSystems will be inundated when any other 360 owner hears my car, or sees the look on my face right now.

Kice to meet you yesterday and glad to see you are happy with the new sound track. The 360 sounded great but with more bass it should be amazing. Role on domsters hunt for the perfect tunnel. Unfortunatly in the ultima you can only hear the engine and not the exhaust, however the brakes, cornering and acceleration keep most people happy. After yesterdays run i have loosened the dampers- not so good in the bends but better in the fillings

Guy- good to meet you too! Was telling the guys about your car earlier today. Interesting what you say about the engine vs exhaust since it sounded pretty sensational as you pulled into the car park. Yours is easily the baddest car I have ever seen, and as someone said yesterday, it's as though you were at Le Mans and turned left out of the pits instead of right!

As for the 360, you really need to hear it in the flesh unless Manu has some sound files that do it justice. And it's the Formula One howl that does it for me.

Hi Kevin,

I am still reeling from the sound. IMO it now sounds better than the 355!!!! This is the second time Manu has directly or indirectly caused me to browse Ferrari websites!!!! I now REALLY REALLY REALLY want a 360!!

Kevin had to put the nail in the coffin by letting me drive the 360 with the tubi on. I tried to resist but how can you?? Thank you Kevin, it was VERY kind of you. I am so amazed by your car, as you took the turning off I could hear your car for what I estimate to be at least 600 metres (I heard you change gear twice, and then heard you still accelerating.). It sounds AMAZING. I can't get over how it sounds. The 355 used to make me feel dizzy, but this lies me down onto cloud 9 itself. I'll sleep with that sound tonight, and tomorrow night and the night after, and the night after that.

Glad Mrs 456 loves it, knew she would! I was so excited about your 360 I completely forgot to send my regards to her, could you please do that? She really is a great lady and a great Ferrari fan! I'd love to see the faces on Max and Laura!!! Wonder which one's the favourite Ferrari now?

Kevin, Ajay and Manu thank you very much all for a brilliant day. Scuderia Systems, you guys are magic. When (if more like!) I (finally) get my 360, I'm asking the dealer to deliver straight to you guys!

Warm Regards

Ali

PS. Kevin, we can't let my mum hear your car, for my dad's sake! New house with a double garage will be needed for them too!

PPS I'm probably rambling like an idiot, but thats what the 360's done to me. My conversations so far have been interrupted by crazing impressions of Kevin's car. My girl reckons I'll be so good at replicating it soon I won't need one for myself!

PPPS: To bury myself completely, can I have a copy of both videos?

Kev,

Sounds like your pleased as punch with the new purchase. You do realise all this talk is doing NOTHING to help contain my excitement

I know that after seeing your car, never mind hearing it, I'll be selling ALL my worldly possessions to try and get behind the wheel of one !!!!!

What's the going rate on kidneys these days???

Anyway, while out taking a stroll with the little nipper on Saturday, I had the pleasure of introducing him to his first Ferrari Experience. Two guys in a 355 GTS screamed (and I mean SCREAMED......) past us waking him up from his deep sleep.

Trust me Kev - if your cars sounds anything like that 355 (And some have said it sounds better) Then IMHO it's money well spent

ENJOY IT !!!!!
Cheers,
Jay.

P.S. I'll send ya an e-mail today with details for meeting 1st Sept.

Ninja- So glad you like it old bean! Can't get over it myself- it's just SUCH a dramatic change in the exhaust note. As you said yourself- just what the f*** are Ferrari doing? I can well understand why most US owners get them fitted before delivery. I've uploaded the images into my webshots folder, including one close up of the tailpipes, just for you. http://community.webshots.com/user/456mgt

You needed to try the 360 yourself so you could see just how easy it is to go quickly. It's a very flattering car. Been itching to start it up today but it's just too damn miserable at the moment. Later.

And I'll get cracking on the video!

See you Ninja. Can feel that tunnel run coming on.....

While we are on the subject of Aural pleasure may I recommend you download the MP3s off my site - I think they are of an F355 with a challenge exhaust fitted.

Kevin,

Im so glad you like the system. I think it meets all your aural requirements! If that car doesn't make people want to die or buy a 360 there is something severely wrong with them!

Ninja, no problem once we have all the footage edited and uploaded I will send you a copy of the video along with some still pictures of the system fitted to the car.

Thank you both for such an enjoyable day.

Thanks! Agree that driveoff is the best- hung on to the revs long enough for it to start howling. Getting ideas Ninja????

Hi Kevin,

Call it lack imagination, but I find it hard to imagine that it can be so much better than what I heard - repeatedly - last Sunday on M40

Met David and a couple of other PHers yesterday: this Blackwall tunnel (and Pie?) run is still on! I also blagged a ride in David's Caterham: amazing experience! Just can't get used to seeing each front wheel moving independently.

It is really rejoicing to see how much you enjoy your toys, i.e. at least as much as I enjoy mine

Hope to catch up soon!

I think this is a fairly profound thing to say given that I'm in the business of improving the way cars sound BUT Kevins car sounds SOOO good now that it ranks at number two in my all time list of awesome sounding MODERN Ferraris:

1. Tubi Ferari F50
2. Tubi Ferrari 360M
3. De-cat + unsilenced Ferrari 550M

The cars overall engine/exhaust note is now sooo good that it really is a musical instrument that can be played with the throttle and gear selection.
Put it this way - the F355 is the best sounding Ferrari (exlude classics like the Daytona and 275GTB/4) of modern times - in it's stock guise. (It could do with more volume)..... Well I was in Ninjas Spyder and for the first time in my life I was thinking that the F355 doesn't sound good enough. Ninja agrees and I think praise comes no higher..

I'm going to upload some footage just as soon as I can. Digitally recorded so it should be good!!!!

OH GOD - FIND US A TUNNEL!!!!!!!!!

Whatever tunnel and venue we find - TVR guys - you gotta be there. The WILD Tiv growl is another bit of automotive Mozart - the more musicians in the orchestra then the better the symphony will sound!!!

For God's sake can someone please suggest some dates for a tunnel blast ? The suspense is killing me. David suggested first thing (ie sparrow's fart) Sunday morning as being a great time to do some London tunnels so what about this Sunday then go & get breakfast? Just an idea. Other times this weekend work for me too. The weekend after is Donnington and I'm still trying to carve out time for Pie on the Beach on the 8th, but that could be a good longstop.

Went out for a blast this afternoon. Ye Gods!! Roms, you just have to hear this.....

What Tubi option did you go for on the 360? Was it the sports silencer and cat replacement pipes?
