Its funny coz it looks like some of the prices have actually come down during the summer! Bought mine in May for 70K but yours looks like the better deal. Mine came with 17K miles on the clock. I take it its from an official Ferrari dealer? Maranellos reduced a 355 Spider that they had for 69950 to 59950! I offered them 63K for it in March but they refused! Seems really odd as you'd think they would want to get some cash flowing in the quiet months.

Torture to a PHer is all this talk of Maranello finery when such things remain but a distant yearning...

I imagine you can scarcely contain yourself? Oh my GOD - a 355...urgh...dribble, babble, boo-hoo!

My warmest congrats on this stunning acquisition!

Collect the car at the weekend.

Holy shit! So that would be an impulse buy then..... These are the best sort, IMO. Fantastic, and I really hope you enjoy this car. Now you can tell your friends & family that you're off for a spot of aural at the weekend hehe

Kevin

PS are you going to take delivery of the spyder replacement? They're quoting 2005 which I presume is for the Maser-engined version. Been considering putting in an order then rolling it over for the new model a couple of years later. Have better things to spend 5K on at the moment so this is not a no-brainer.

I am absolutely piling the mileage on this car. nearly 3,500 miles in 3 months! I need to contact the insurance company and let them know that the 6,000 annual allowance is not nearly enough! Hopefully you get a measure of what these cars will do to you. Consider renting a garage? Good luck and look forward to a meet!

I know what you mean... I've had the Chimaera since Dec. 1st last year and I've covered... 13.5k miles . Unfortunately I have to leave my car on the street - under a cover - but I can't help turning back to look at it every time I walk away from it. I still can't believe it's mine.

I spend more and more time on the Ferrari forum. It's great to see such enthusiasm!

Kev,
I will take the 360 spid replacement. I want to own one and say that I didnt lose a bundle on it like have on every other car I have owned except the 911 or hopefully the 355.

I havnt been asked to place a deposit on any of the cars i have on order, just letters of intent. I imagine the dealership know I am mad enough to take them.

996 turbo cab
996 Turbo S
996 replacement turbo
360 replacement spider

I have realised though these cars are reall expensive the cost of ownership only reall comes down to depreciation which if the are in demand is almost nil.
(thats what i tell the bank anyway lol)

I too am VERY seriously thinking about putting deposit(s) down on a 360 Modena and rolling it over for the replacement. More than anything I'm really in love with the idea of the 575M replacement which apparently is going to have the Enzo's V12 - something I hope I am in a position to actually keep when it comes out.

It DOES irritate me that the dealers earn interest on our collective deposits while we sit there and have £5000 - £10,000 doing absolutely FK ALL for 4 years.
Wouldn't it be possible for them to simply lock us into a contract....? either way - they don't really give damn about who buys the car until we start speccing them......
The joys of purchasing an exotic eh....?

I am still sorting out the insurance but it looks like my first trip in the car will be saturday, from Colchester to Brighton. Any weather reports?

Roll on Saturday...

Just to keep you lot informed and because i am as excited person can be and still have my clothes on.

I have had a quote for insurance for £1213 for unlimited mileage. This is with my noclaims staying on my 911 and a normal excess. I am stunned all the other quotes were at least twice as much.

I'm stunned too. This is an F brilliant quote; being, ahem, mumblewheresmefeckingteethmmm years older than your goodself. It's costing me a grand each for the cars both on 5K mile policies. Sixteen grand has to be that open market bollocks unless it includes a permanent courtesy car.

Weather's looking good and I'm getting excited for you! Best of luck.

Right,
I went to bed at 3 as i was too excited.
Got up at 6.30 as i was too excited.

The car is a dream!!!

One thing I have already noticed is the friendly way the car is greeted by almost everyone. My Porca isnt so warmly cheered.

[quot]I blame you lot.

I am having a test drive of a 355 Spider tomorrow because of you lot. Why oh why did I look at this forum. My accountant has disowned me...

I am keeping the Porca but need an open top beasty to enjoy for the next few months.

Can someone suggest some decent insurers, I want to leave my no claims on my 911 so it may be tricky getting a non stratospheric price.

Which dealer Rich. In my experience they are tighter on prices with the SOR stuff, as they prefer to sell their own cars (understandably).

That's contrary to my experience. Dealers are going to make say ~£5K on each SOR car, so it's not like they need to sell it for a certain price to retain their margin. They'll just go back to the seller and ask them if they're prepared to accept the price. I managed to knock a good £5K off the windscreen price recently this way.
