Will it be ok for a Marcos to join you in the car park, or should I go direct to VW?

Jeez- you need to ask? More than welcome..

Sorry. Wasn't sure if it was a muster point for the Ferrari/Porsche Pistonhead 'massive' or a general convoy thingummy to VW. I'm a bit thick on Saturdays......

Ooooh look at the time... it's Sunday

Rich sorry to hear that. Its getting a regular problem. Must be something you can do as, God forbid, it could escalate to something more serious.

Sorry to hear that Rich.

I don't know your situation but from previous posts you park your cars outside? I guess you need to get a property with a double garage. It's got to be some scrote trying to break in to get the car keys, or thinking "if he's got two cars like that his flat must be crammed with laptops, dvd players, videos and everything else that I can sell for a tenner at the pub."

Sorry mate, but it's a sick country where you can't buy nice things from tax paid money. Where our government are more interested in stopping people killing fluffy disease spreading vermin in a traditional manner, than bringing the death sentence back for drug dealers and paedophiles.

What about meeting at Manu's (plenty of space) then rendez-vousing at a pub further away (ie excuse for a drive), where there are some decent driving roads and no 3.50 parking fee. The food at the pub at VW wasn't amazing, either...

Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic meet, but you can't pay 3.50 in the correct change every time you want to enter the car park.

Cheers to sb for arranging it - and his fantastic missus for being a real star. Also, lovely to meet and catch up with people - but I still have more to meet - I keep seeing AJ Lintern and never get around to chatting 944s with him!

Rgds to all

Dom,
There is no reason why we could'nt do much the same as yesterday.ie meet at Manu's first and use as a base later.
Still think that V.Water is a good venue overall(where else can you find such a large flat car park where we can fit up to 70 cars on a Sunday near the M25?),can't speak for the pub as I didn't use it! I would suggest that we could do as above, then adjourn to Manu's for drives etc. or head off to a pub & drive, for those that want to. Obviously it is not practical to use VW as a base to swop rides!
Cheers
Steve

I am all for doing a 'Parott' run again at some stage
but obviously we couldn't fit all the cars that came yesterday in their car park!
Regards
Steve

Couldn't we get 70 cars into Manu's on a Sunday? Thought it was a big car park.

My point is that 70 PHers paying 3.50 each is about 250 quid, which I would rather see go to Ted's nominated charity, or some beer/pie. I'm not being a stinge, here - I'd happily meet up at Manu's and give 3.50 to cancer research. If we go off for a drive at VW it defeats the object of paying all that money to park there... I'd rather bring a picnic in that case and arrive at 9am

Admittedly it is a nice car park, but if you want to meet up with mates and go for a drive, there are plenty of big, free ones not far from there.

Cheers

There is a flat grass car park that my Noble can get in and out (with a little bit of care) without any problem, so others should be OK, that is right next to the Thames and just around from VW

Map is at www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=499795&y=172955&z=3&sv=499500,172500 and it's a National Trust car park so I get to park for free It's also pay per the hour, and so will allow people to come and go as they please for rides etc.

It's got space for at least 150+ cars, and normally only has 20/30 on it.

It's just off the Egham bypass and so pre-meet at Manu's would also be OK.

There are some other car parks around there - but this seems to offer the best *if* it hasn't rained for the week before and made it all muddy

How about a day with some blasting on real roads? I live nr Newbury which is approx 30 miles of M3 from Manu & Ajays pad. I know some realy ace & very fast B rd thrashes within a few miles. Some flipping ace roads that I think are some of the best biking/driving rds in the south of england & more west coast of scotland than south of england. Some ace open road blasts that if you don't hit the rev limiter in every gear you realy are not trying. Some real Porker vs Ferrari blasting locations!!

Prob not great idea for 70+ cars as it will probabally get a bit silly but ace for a handful

Hi guys.

Iguana, you're a genius.

I would definitely be up for a meet for some sunday afternoon driving on those roads.

Had a great time on sunday, nice to see everyone A really brilliant selection of cars at the Scuderia systems car park and I couldn't believe the huge number of cars at Viginia Water! So much to take in and only 1 film in the camera (must get one of those digital thingys)
Domster - I keep meaning to thank you in person for advising me to go for the S2 instead of a cheaper Lux! Its a great car to drive and quite deceptively fast when required, but so easy to drive as an everyday car. So much for my 3000 mile limit on the insurance - I've done over 1000 miles in less than 2 months!
Oh well hope to see you all next time, maybe we can go for a good drive somewhere - where abouts near Newbury are these roads? Thats just down the road from me

Hi AJ

Glad the S2 is panning out well. They are tons better than Lux's. I keep meaning to say hello, but I am normally being regaled by tales of substance abuse and call girls by Ultra Violent, or having the mickey taken out of my beetle by Bluesatin, so don't get much time to see everyone. Driving near Newbury seems like a good idea, but don't step in a 911 if you don't want to be seduced by the howl of a flat six... the 944s are fantastic, but the 911s are so much more emotional

Too right about the sound! Though the S2 engine doesn't sound bad for a straight 4 - almost as smooth as a straight 6 with a nice supercharger type whine somewhere in the rev range
But I heard your RS drive off from VW and it sounded the business - specially the overrun when changing up, just like something from Le Mans - Brilliant!!
