Are you buying from Audi ? I'm looking at one from a small dealer but I'd rather buy audi approved, unfortunately they don't have a car at my price point. Did you get the car independently inspected?

I would say the R8 isn't really great as they depreciate considerably more than the equivalent Supercar.

They are amazing cars but I genuinely advise my customers against them if depreciation is an important factor in the purchase.

If you want to buy it and enjoy it then just do it.

Edit- apologies thought you were looking at a new one.

They are at the budget end of the supercar scene at 45k or so but prices aren't dropping like stones so I find your reply a bit puzzling!
Maybe if you buy new then yes you will get hammered over 5yrs by depreciation. Most cars are not investment material however and should be bought just to enjoy tbh it's just a bonus if you don't lose your shirt!

Will be interesting to see what the new Alfa guilia thingy looks like for residuals in 2 or 3 yrs for a similar outlay circa 60k

Used R8s have barely depreciated for a number of years. Look like a fairly solid buy IMO

Just about to pick up my 2014 r8 V10 spyder with the s-tronic from Audi in reading. Only got 6.5k miles on it. They seem to be holding pretty well i anticipate the v10 manual with mid 30k miles to still hold in the mid 50s.
I am adding a capristo x-pipe exhaust so hopefully that should add some value lol.

Sounds a lovely car.

I have a Capristo on mine - incredible sound from it.

The whole mileage thing seems to be a double edged sword. Mine has 3 times that mileage and is a year younger. There's an argument that mine with 20k miles (Not one issue with it) is a safer bet, but let's face it, you can't help but be drawn to the low mileage example?

Think i'll garage mine for the winter now!
