Hi Guys,

I am collecting a brand new Lamborghini Huracan at month end. Its my first Lambo and first supercar, excited is an understatement!

Anyway being somewhat inexperienced in these realms I was after any general advice for collection day. What should I look for? What can I expect from the dealer? Can others possibly share their experiences of a Lamborghini handover?

Many thanks in advance for your contributions.

Cant wait for the collection and praying for dry weather!

Like all new cars - remember to remove the plastic tabs from the battery terminals before starting for the first time or it won't work ....

First off, congrats on getting a new lambo. You'll love it and will be able to enjoy #lifestylelambo rolleyessmile

Mine wasn't new but the handover experience is pretty much just like picking up any car really except with some pictures being taken while sipping on a some nice coffee rather than vending machine crap. We also got pics of the car being prepared as well and a nice little video of it all ready to go with Craig going on about how wonderful it looks and how we will enjoy it. I kind of liked that as like you it's our first supercar and made everything a little bit more special. You sign some paperwork and what not and then the dealer (Pangbourne Lambo) unveiled it. Just make sure you ask how to open the petrol cap thingy smile as you'll be needing to do that a lot. After a quick explanation of how stuff works you'll drive it out of the showroom and you're off. Though I didn't get to do that to mine as it was loaded on the back of the covered truck for it's journey up north.

Oh and in the boot we got a bottle of champagne and the cover that was on the car in showroom. Cheers for that Craig. Nice little touch.

Congratulations. This summer will be fun for sure. Hope for drinks and food and a generally pleasant handover. Never bought new but always got this from Pangbourne when buying pre-owned.

Thanks, I am looking forward to it.

I have bought through Lamborghini Birmingham. The whole process has been dealt with through email as I work overseas a lot. I have never set foot in the dealership or met any of the staff but the service and their response has been very good thus far.

Thanks for your thoughts. It sounds as though you had a pleasant experience. I have met Craig and some of his team before but on this occasion I got a better deal with Lamborghini Birmingham.

Did you try to wrangle any freebies, like clothing, caps etc..?

It was very pleasant experience but it's still the same, in principle, as picking up ford except your in a nicer showroom with attentive and pleasant staff.

We got Carbon Fibre door sill things that say "Gallardo" on them, the cover that was over the car in the showroom and a free minor service/MOT when that's due in September. Never bothered to get free clothing, caps.

if you live outside of London then not much can prepare you for the amount of attention you get - you may feel a tad self conscious at times!

It's a very old blog post (2007) and the photos are no longer supported but your post reminded me of this from old time PHer Tuan Le;

It's a little hard to read now due to formatting but always brings a smile to my face.

I don't live in London and already get attention in my M4 Convertible, I'm guessing a Lambo will be on a whole other level for drawing peoples gaze!

I suppose I should update this with the specification I chose;

LP580-2 RWD Coupe
Bianco Monocerus (FOC white, as I may wrap the car a louder more vibrant colour- any suggestions??)
19" Kari Alloys in gloss black (I like the design of these wheels and my thinking was the ride would be better on UK roads than the 20" upgrades)
Lifting System
Blu Cepheus Ad Personam painted brake calipers
Sportivo Unicolour with alcantara and Blu Cepheus stitching
Alcantara headlining and A-pillars
Steering wheel in alcantara
Navigation
Electric and heated seats
F&R parking sensors and rear view camera
Bluetooth (kind of criminal this isn't standard!)
Cruise control
DAB (As above rolleyes)
Branding pack (Lamborghini embossed on head rests and badge on passenger side of dash)

I think that's it. I didn't go mad but got all the essentials I believe.
