Ha! Looking at 355's is a dangerous thing Trackdemon...

He's asking 83K and he'll be lucky if he gets it. On the plus side, it's a 99T which makes it one of the last built. On the minus side, it's an F1, winter is coming and he's asking too much.

From the current episode of Top Marques, all for 355 spider, mostly dealers and in £K:
1996 manual: 59; 67
1997 manual: 67; 71
1997 F1: 71
1998 manual: 74; 74; 75
1998 F1: 68; 76; 77; 79; 81
1999 F1; 79; 82

Read into the figures what you will, but to me it looks like each year elapsed is 5-10K:
1996- about 60K
1997- about 70K
1998- about 77K
1999- about 80K

Of course, this is what they're asking, not what they'll get.

I can't get comfortable with the idea of buying an expensive car on ebay; sorry but no. Has anyone actually bought one this way or know of anyone who's sold one?

How ya doing Kevin - are you back yet mate?

I'm fairly sure the Americans on F-chat are willing to buy cars from e-bay... but there'd have to be a big damn incentive to do it (i.e $$$$$$$) to get me to effectively "buy a Ferrari from the internet."

Hi Manu- I'm here at the moment but off to the States next week. Rushing round like a blue arsed fly with my accountants hat on (I hate it and it doesn't fit); you know what it's like! NEED to do the Virginia Water thing & will do it if I'm on the right continent.

I think Kevin's right with those prices. Certainly matches my experience and remember that you can knock off a couple of grand from the price being asked (maybe more but I lost out on two cars by trying too hard!). Also, I would always want to get a car like that from an official dealer just for the backup. I don't want a headache car and buying from a dealer helps alleviate that problem. You get warranty and an an easier escape route when you want to sell!

Kevin, I know you enjoyed the trip. Actually sounds quite reasonably money for what you get.

Manu, WHERE ARE THE VIDS???

I'm so sad, I left the camcorder in the tunnel and drove through it six times. Amazing to see the car down the road and still hear the sound reverberating in the tunnel!! Will give you the sound clip once I've recorded it over
