Supercar event IOM 2018

You maybe able to book the circuit at Jurby to have your own track day but don’t confuse the TT circuit as a race track. It’s a 2 way public road and there will be traffic most of the time unless you go very early in the morning. Fog, rain and high winds are also an issue around this time of year. I spent all of yesterday in the airport trying to get off the island after all flights were cancelled. Ferry is even worse during winter.
July to Sept are the best time to go, in between the bike racing.
They are closing the road for one of these events, let's hope the April weather is kind.July to Sept are the best time to go, in between the bike racing.

Well aware it's a normal two way road normally tho as are most people.
I've been to The Sloc hill climb and been unable to see cars with fog tho as you say! :-)
no, thats another event, so we are now upto 3 lol! Thats the most expensive yet at nearly £4k per car! ouch!
i started the original thread about the "Race the Rock" event as its now called being run by straightliners, which was to be a closed road sprint, trackday and top speed runs. this has now evolved into an event in early April.
the 2nd event appears to be end of April at £2.5k! which is just a glorified tour but with the advantage of 1 way closed traffic use of the 7 mile mountain section of the course, and then the 3rd event you linked in June is also new!
crazy times. someone obviously decided there was money to be had saving super car owners the hassle of booking a ferry and hotel themselves lol

The TT course in one direction and closed to public will be cool, I've ridden it on mad Sunday and it's too lairy at times. I've also driven it late evening in summer at speed in a car with no traffic about and it was fabulous so a gaggle of super cars doing it will be fun
+1Exiting Waterworks corner at WOT and meeting a white van coming straight at you is an acquired taste

You are overlooking the fact that Modball etc are also BIG social events with lashings of hospitality laid on. It requires staff and money. A world class DJ for instance will cost anywhere between £10K and £50K for a 3 hour set.Edited by 200Plus Club on Friday 16th February 09:40
In the case of Modball "incidentals" such as speeding fines and petRol can easily add another couple of grand to drivers' proceedings. Messy yes. Memorable certainly

I think I'm too old or too tight to want to watch some DJ spunking £10k-50k on some music just to appear trendy. In the case of Modball "incidentals" such as speeding fines and petRol can easily add another couple of grand to drivers' proceedings. Messy yes. Memorable certainly
Love the driving parts obviously but some people obviously have more money than sense spending £4k + on 3 days in the good old IOM :-)
If it was Monaco and then some mountain passes I could see the cost benefit perhaps.
Will be fun whatever your budget and whichever event you choose. Like busses these IOM events lol, 3 turn up at once....

You are probably correct Monaco has been done to death, even though I always enjoy the Alps, and some of the tours popping up at motorsport destinations such as Pau, Isle Of Man and Oslo offer something fresh.
You pays your money....

Yea it's interesting to see new events. I've done the IOM lots of times and it's generally quiet outside TT events and will work well for super cars. Depending on plans we might pop across in April Monaco has been done to death, even though I always enjoy the Alps, and some of the tours popping up at motorsport destinations such as Pau, Isle Of Man and Oslo offer something fresh.
