From C63 to Maserati Gran Turismo
Discussion
As title,
I currently have a C63, fantastic car which I took in PX for my Audi R8 ages ago.
I am now debating swapping at next to no cost to something a bit more 'special' without upping my budget.
I used to own a 4200 Maser and loved the feeling of owning something a bit different / Italian , question is...would I be mad to give up my C63 if the right deal came up and I moved to a Granturismo at no cost?
Genuinely appreciate all feedback on this.

I wouldn't swap, i was looking to go the other way about five years ago.I currently have a C63, fantastic car which I took in PX for my Audi R8 ages ago.

It depends why you want to swap though, the C63 is much more fun to drive but the Maser is a nice place to be and has a bit more kudos.

To me the maser feels a bit more special. I have a lease Octavia VRS coming as my daily and wanted to swap the C63 for something a little more special. It depends why you want to swap though, the C63 is much more fun to drive but the Maser is a nice place to be and has a bit more kudos.
I’m not massively bothered that the maser is a little slower either
I looked at the C63 (coupe) and Maser GT at the same time a few years ago. Went for the Maserati in the end which was was a really great car.
The ride in the Merc was too hard for me but it was probably a faster car. The Maserati swayed it given the larger rear seats and I found it more fun to drive. I was also put off by some previous bad experiences from Mercedes main dealers whereas the after-sales on the Maserati was very good.

They are both nippy / twitchy rear-wheelers. Only real difference (apart from costs) is looks and badge -- and the Mazza wins on both fronts by a country mile. Switch to the GT.
Not correct but what's new from Yipper. The Maser isn't twitchy and i had an MC, the Mercedes is considerably faster than the Maser in both a straight line and twisty stuff.

Agreed it probably is a bit more special and as you are getting the VRS it makes more sense.I’m not massively bothered that the maser is a little slower either
The Maser is a large car though and struggles on B roads if you want to have some fun. But i prefer the looks of it and the sound is quite a bit better than the C63 and that is saying something.

OP - I actually did exactly this in July of this year. I'd had an early current model C63, my first. It had some teething problems, engine was great, sound was very nice... but the interior build quality was poor with more rattles than anything I'd had before and seemingly an inability to fix it. That said, it is still a great car. After 2 years - which is something of a record of staying power for me - I switched to a GranTurismo Sport. This is my third GT, having gone from a 4.2 to a 4.7 GranCabrio MC and now to this Sport.
The GT is nothing like the C63 at all. Its nowhere near as nimble, not as fast, but it squeaks and rattles less and the interior build quality feels higher than the Merc. Who'd have thought that for an Italian car!? Oh, and neither are twitchy fyi.
The GT definitely feels like more of a comfortable place to be, prettier, more unusual and exclusive (if that's your thing), gets more looks (again if that's your thing - or not). But the technology is notably older, slower gear change, not as responsive, the infotainment system is pretty poor (have you got CD's to hand? It doesn't bluetooth music - and even plugging in an MP3 device is hit and miss)... but you know what? I prefer it. It has more soul, more character, has been in for work on it less than the Merc.

Assuming OP is talking about a mk1 C63 then no contest when compared to a Maser GTS MC from my experience.
When I looked at the C63 I liked the car a lot but didn’t feel special enough and I hated the ‘tiptronic’ style auto gearbox. The sound was great, but nowhere near as good as the MC on full chat. The interior was also quite average and like any other mass produced German car. The sat nav and infotainment was equally as useless as the maser when compared to modern equivalents and like others have said mine works seamlessly with a simple Bluetooth adapter.
Maser wins hands down for me due to the drama, appeal, looks, sound, interior and although it’s a heavier car it’s the same 0-60 (evo) and only ~0.5secs slower to 100mph.
