Anyone have access to a price list for optional extras for the 2013 range?

Just to add to this, I've recently bought a gen 1 v10 privately. It was a decent price so took a gamble.

Arranging a ppi inspection with Audi sounded like it was going to be difficult, but they were happy to give me a summary and confirm it's service history tied up with what I had reviewed in its file.

Envy stricken here. Future car for me with the blind hope of the optimist!!

One thing that has struck me from this thread is the need for PPI.

Is there a website where people that are buying great cars can lodge their PPI's to inform others of the report? Keep the dealers honest?

Congratulations. Enjoy.

Many thanks appreciate the comments on the ppi issue I think the rac are up to 500 for an r8 and I just could not be certain if a small dealer stumping up for warranty issues should the need arise

Yours will have at least 15-20k in the interior and carbon bits alone from what I read of the description last week.

Wow many thanks for that great breakdown. Are the quilted leather seats a standard no cost option from new back in 2013 I would have expected an increase for them but they were not mentioned anywhere so I guess not

Not that I'm aware of. IMHO, rightly or wrongly, I would always get my own PPI for any exotic car I purchased regardless of whether there was a website with documented previous PPIs. Whilst that might be great in some respects, it won't cover the existing seller's time with the car.

Buying an exotic car? Get your own PPI. Ideally with someone who is independent of the sale and is a specialist on the car you're purchasing. Unless of course you're loaded in which case purchase away biggrin

On the ppi I agree but for sure won't be doing one when buying from a main dealer as they have no where to hide legally if it's a lemon

Yeah i just called again and explained the situation!! I've been treated better when buying a pub meal I could buy a house up north for this dosh!! Lets hope its just coincidence as to be fair I've offered a little lower than screen price but not much and if I can't get a little I will likely pass and continue to wait or buy another make etc
I tried to buy a DB9 Manual in Navy / Cream (ideal spec) from these guys, was chasing them for, literally, weeks, then the car came to market and they sold it to someone else whilst I was arranging a PPI, the other buyer failed the credit check and it took them 3 further weeks to email me to see if I was interested, I thought if it is that hard for them to take my money I'd dread to think how difficult it would be trying to sort a claim, etc.

It was awful with Romans i offered 64k for a 65k car theyve had since july they declined but getting any response from them by phone or email was a nightmare. Audi West London called and emailed many times yesterday when the deal was being done so far top notch customer service

Their loss.

I had similar when trying to buy a F430 from a dealer (not Romans, but same mentality) once. I had the audacity to suggest that I would like to get a PPI done on the car by Ferrari. Their response was basically to just keep repeating variations of "it's a lovely car" presumably in the hope that I would just take that as gospel and say "oh well if you say it's lovely then it must be". They too wouldn't return my calls.

Never really understood the mentality of dealers like that. If I was spending any reasonable amount of money I'd want to do my due diligence. What kind of customer, as in your case, takes a punt with £65k?

Regards PPI from main dealers - what I would say is, as with everything, that there is a PPI when they're looking to buy the car from you, and a PPI when you're buying it from them. They may will be the same document, but different emphasis would be applied. Like, when you're buying a car the fact it has tyres at 4mm is normal, but if you were chopping it in they'd be all "we'll need to change those for our Approved Used process, so we're gonna chip you down £X"...

Yep they have you at every turn in some respects but I guess that's business the real scam I think is the paint and interior protection package pretty sure it was way over 500 I declined as I like to polish once in a while but as up I say their loss I think the owner would sack that sales guy on the spot if he knew how I had been handled with money to spend didn't even try and reach any compromise with me

One of the dealers mentioned here are a joke. I'm very calm by nature, but once I called about a car for sale and the sales lady started arguing about standard vs optional spec.

At first contact! Maybe caught her on a bad day, but if that's how they conduct themselves before they have your money, just imagine further contact once you've driven away.

thats a shame...... did seem a rather good deal at that price. ... If you are at all interested in a black with grey leather v10 manual spyder in top condition my father may put his up for sale soon as he is getting a bit old for it (75 next month). approx 35k miles but has had in the last 5000 miles, new clutch and flywheel, new disks and pads all round, new rear window mechanism and a few other bits totaling 7k spent...would be 60k ish...will have to confirm with him if he wants to sell...but just thought i would put it out there... red ones are crazy rare in any spec.
