Wouldn't be a surprise to see them respray (or wrap) it red and try to push up the next-resale price. Yellow makes the F40 look like a kitcar.
You're the gift that keeps giving Yapper, of course a F40 with a dodgy colour-change wrap is going to draw in the collectors looking for an investment. biggrin

This is a great site for auction results: https://www.glenmarch.com/

Click the "Auction Search" tab and select "Auction Results" from the drop down.

This particular one is still awaiting results but they should be there soon.

Don’t really get that as Euro cars are superior in looks and performance to US spec cars
Surely it’s relatively easy to import an 89 or 90 car into the US?

Certainly last year I was approached quite a few times by US dealers about selling mine and I’ve seen pictures of UK cars which were shipped over last year

Like JT, I reckon that 800 cannot possibly be accurate. I also think this might be a reference to number of 'unmolested' / 'no stories' cars.

40% of the production run crashed / written off / modified sounds about right to me...

I'd remind everyone that s/n 80726 was burnt to virtually nothing back in 1993, rebuilt as a fake LM, and has now been resurrected as a Classiche-certified example.

Agreed. Much the same way IMO a manual 599 GTB has a premium over the superior (regular) F1 box. Optimal performance is trumped by rarity. I prefer what the designers intended.

You have an F40!

Oh my days! If you’re ever in the West Yorkshire area I’d love to see it

I shipped mine over last year. Process is very easy and straight forward once the car is 25 years old.

I drove a manual 599 a few years ago. Car was rubbish compared to a 599 fitted with the F1.

The yellow F40 has appeared in the for sale section of PH at £800k plus many of the other Ferrari’s that were offered for sale at the same auction...?

It’s being advertised by Coys themselves?! So presumably it didn’t sell at the auction and the bids were fake? Same for the rest.

I think part of the premium besides rarity is also having a Ferrari V12 with a proper manual shifter. It would still sell at a premium even if much more than 30 were made. Because it's the last Ferrari V12 with a manual and is N/A at that. One of the reasons I have ZERO interest in new Ferraris is exactly because they are all automatic. I'm fine with an auto box in a Rolls, Bentley or even Mercedes saloon. In a sports car I want to do the shifting.

Soon we will not only have auto boxes only but also turbos only. Then N/A cars, even with auto boxes will also carry a premium. N/A with proper manual boxes will keep on raising and raising and raising.

So my dream Ferrari is a F40, followed by a F50, 288, 599 manual, 575/550 manual and then any of the older rear mid engine V8s which came in manual.
