My 360 is currently being repaired, it’s had two new engine ECUs and a replacement immobiliser,
I don’t like the the faffing around with the whole start up procedure, and more importantly as the cars age these silly electronic devices are causing much trouble, and very expensive trouble.
So does anyone know of a way around this issue, I appreciate that people will say that it can be stolen more easily, but who really would steal such a high profile car with a very limited market.
Any thoughts advice help would be most welcome, Mike

Thank you , but it wont start without the immobiliser in place, im being told by the garage that its not possible to run or start the 360 without the immobilser in place, do you know of anyone whos actually bypassed the immobiliser, thanks Mike

The immobiliser communicates with one of the engine ECU's. The only way I can see it bypassed is if someone can custom flash the ECU to remove the immobiliser handshake. I'd start with someone like DMS?

That isn't correct. The siren is just a siren. The immobiliser sites behind the cover the at the back of the passenger seat. The alternative Bosch parts don't seem to work correctly.

Thanks very much Mike 1606, the immobiliser and two engine ecus are off to be flashed and matched by a specialist, I think going forward our 360 cars are going to have this/these electronic problems.
Thats why I asked the question, my problems started when the main engine ECU went wrong, two new ecus fitted but it wont respond every time to the immobiliser, Ferrari want 10k for a new matched set!. So the garage is in the process of repairing them without Ferrari charging a fortune, TBH its shook my confidence in the car, Its been remarkably reliable, I always thought Ferraris were prone to mechanical failures, but alas its the electronics! Goodness knows what the future holds for the modern cars as they age. Mike

This company can supply a box that replaces the immobiliser unit and sends the required signal to the ecu all the time, no more fannying about after that, the clicker just opens the doors from then on.

http://site.ecudoctors.com/tech-data/Ferrari/Ferra...

I doubt a reflash will sort the issue as one of the engine ecu needs to see a code each time at ignition otherwise it wont fire up, it then links to the other to initiate the sequence.

Thanks I looked at the site and the car would still need the immobiliser in place, I rather wanted to do away with it full stop, but it’s not possible.
You are correct that a simple flash won’t work,so the ecu ,s and the immobiliser are being programmed. What a bloody kerfuffle, all because one ecu went bad, it’s put me off not just my car but the whole way that modern cars are so reliant on electronics.
I never imagined big bills would come from silly electric components, mechanical repairs are nothing.Mike

Who is doing the ecu alterations for you? I also need to sort this problem on a 575 in the future which is why I started to research it.

Hello, Christian Lewis are undertaking the overall repair, but the actual programming is being done by a guy they use , it’s quite a specialist repair.
Bloody ridiculous that our cars are starting to exhibit these what I consider almost designer factory installed unnecessary complicated components, pm me if you would like further details, Mike

Thanks, the Bosch units are used in a lot of VAG cars so hoping those guys have broken the codes.

I've just pinged a mate as he had the same issue. Had the immobiliser cloned to a 2nd hand unit and cost about £400 all in. It's cheaper that the Ferrari fix of buying a whole set if the immobiliser has an issue...but get why you'd want to have a bypass.

Hi my car is all done A1 two new engine Ecu,s and immobiliser, all reprogrammed, work done by Christian Lewis performance cars at Bedford. They have been first class, I would strongly recommend them.
Just thought I’d let you know, might help others, regards Mike
