Few days ago i seen a Red 360 spyder in Ediburgh as it came out the opening and swung round and headed up for the town i noticed just how wide it really is!
Behind it there was some seat theingy and it wasnt half as wide as the 360.
Also i must say to the owner of that 360 that he has a really nice example with the cream leather and probably the paddleshift [doubt many get it with the manual]
He had more attention on that road from everybody than the Queen would get doing backflips and disco dancing naked with osama bin laden.

Most early 360s came equipped with the F1 paddleshift, but now, the UK is the only country where manual gearchanges outsell F1s.

No wonder, when an F1 clutch costs £3000 every 9000 miles or something.

I can see why people go for the F1 shift. But in my mind there simply is nothing better than the "Click Clack" of the traditional Ferrari open gate. Simply wonderful

Would anybody care to disagree - I didn't think so

Hungryjim: Your absolutely right, the 360 is one wide car. I had the pleasure of getting up close to one a few weeks back and I couldn't believe how wide and LOW they actually are.

It's funny actually. But i prefer the berlinetta (sorry if spelling is incorrect - it is early in the morning and I can't be bothered checking) to the Spyder in 360 form. BUT I prefer the 355 spyder to the 355 berlinetta.

Still if I had the money I'd be happy with either.

You know what Jay - I also used to prefer the Berlinetta over th Spyder but not any more.... The Spyder has really grown on me...And there really is no substitute for a convertible in summer.

I know what you mean Manu - It's a shame we don't get nicer, longer summers to actually benefit from having a drop top through.

I'm not saying the 360 spyder is an ugly car - far from it. It just doesn't look (how can I put this) - right. Do you know what I mean???

To me the 355 looks like it was designed to be a convertible from the outset, whereas the 360 doesn't.
Having had chance to compare a few at donington I'd have to say (hand on heart) I much prefer the Berlinetta 360.

What's over peoples views on this one? Would be interesting to know.
Cheers,
Jay.

Must say I did prefer the Berlinetta, but having seen a couple of spiders I do fancy one. Prices are coming down now too...

But all in all my opinion is with Jay on this one, I think the Berlinetta looks more "right" (for want of not saying that the Spider doesn't, if you know what I mean.). It just looks more mean and purposeful. At some angles the 360 doesn't look elegant anyway, but this is even more so on the Spider.

Still want a spider though

I remember coming back from central london one night and seeing a black 360 modena. The car looked the dogs danglies in my opinion. I respect anyone who gets a ferrari in black, it looks ready for war!

Spider looks great but i prefer the berlinetta simply because the cars lines look more flowing rather than broken.

You sound like my misses Ninja

I remember the first time I saw a 355 in a magazine. I thought, and still do to some degree, that it was the most perfect car ever built - then I saw the spyder. It was love at first sight. I never thought a car could have sexy appeal - but this one has bags of the stuff.

I just didn't get the same feelings when I saw the 360. At the time I thought Ferrari had made a huge mistake. They had turned a beautiful car into ugly duckling (As they had done with the 328 to the 348).

HOWEVER, the 360 Berlinetta has grown on me BIG time. Pictures just don't do this car any justice. Now, I believe it to be one of the best looking Ferraris of all time. I LOVE IT. Everything about it. If I had unlimited funds it would be the car I'd have - without question. (With TUBI of course)

As Manu said the Spyder will probably grow on me with time.

Lets hope the Enzo does as well.
KEV: You've seen the Enzo.... Would you said it looks better in the flesh ???

A silver 360 spyder let me pass on the nurburgring a few weeks ago (silver and black, same colour scheme as my porker). I saw the car in the car park an hour or so later and had a good look. It is the only car I've seen since collecting my 996tt in april where I've looked at it and thought WOW, wouldn't mind adding one of those to the garage in a couple of years when they're sensible money.

DAZ

(Clearly with de-catted TUBIs and on the basis the Porker retains number one space in the garage as the serious performance motor. The Fezza addition taking number 2 space as the sunny teeny bit lower performance pose-mobile!!)

The 360 spyders lines are briliant!
They let it stand out and it is one of the few convertables that looks good with the roof on!
I know that the 355 looked more "right" but the 360 will probably shape the Ferraris of the future ie. the Enzo.

I'm actually totally in love with the Enzo now... and somewhat off-topic - I was wondering...

To work the F1 gearbox, instead of a paddles behind the wheel, I would love to have a huge gear lever that you bang forward and back to go through the gears - same F1-ness but also brings back a little of the tactility (sp?) lost with shifter paddles being behind the wheels (like the guys in F1 did before the 'box operation was moved behind the steering wheel).

Dom/Kev/Ninja please refrain from broadcasting some lewd interpretation of the words above - I am waiting for some kind of smartass remark.....

No, not really. It just looks more purposeful in the flesh. When you see it coming down the street it just makes you think 'wow'. Same sort of impression you get with a Lambo. Made the 360's next to them look a bit girly

Jay- I've got those pics on the 'puter & I'll upload them when I have a mo. Ones from Italy already there.

When I first drove the 360SPF1 I didn't think it was that wide. When I first parked it the car suddenly grew 20ft in width. I thought "shit, I'd better get this spot on because everyone's watching". Got it spot on naturally. Phew

Tempting. Bloody tempting..... But I think you'd lose the main point of the F1 if you used a lever since you'd have to take your hands off the wheel to change gear. To be frank, I'm a bit wary of the manual versus F1 thing after it turned into a flamer on FerrariChat. Though I still haven't worked out why people get so excited by it.

Never thought it was anything to get excited about either. Get a 355 manual (the only way to go) and a 360F1 as the F1 is better on a 360. Not better than a manual(before I get abuse)just better than the 355F1.
