I was wondering what, if anything, people are using these days.

I have been using the Cyclops App on an i-phone for the last few years. I actually use this as my speedo as the speedo on my Huracan overreads by almost 10%, just like my Gallardo before that. Easy to move from car to car etc.

Only real downside is that the App seems to freeze me out every few months and I end up downloading again and resubscribing. Not material money but a bit annoying. Is the consensus that this is still the best phone App around?

On a slight tangent, I took an 1800 mile roundabout drive down to our place in the South of France via Germany, Switzerland and Italy a couple of weeks ago on the day the French dropped their single carriageway national speed limit to 80kph from 90kph in the hope of reducing road deaths. In my respectful opinion if the French wanted to save a few lives they would stop driving up the chuff of the car in front and overtaking on bends, both of which seem to be national sports (along I guess with football).

It was also depressing to see quite how saturated Europe has become with speed cameras. Who would have guessed the Italians would put up with average speed cameras on the majority of their Autostrada network?

Best bit of my trip was a couple of charges up the Grand St Bernard pass and a bit of derestricted Autobahn. Would have been fun to have been in one's prime in the Sixties (other than the bit about that making one about 104 now).

I've been using snooper's since the late 90's.
The 815, S4 Evo, sapphire and now the 4Zero Elite BT (3 weeks old).
Had a brief try of the Road Angel Gem+ which I thought was utter rubbish in comparison. Kept falling out its magnetic mount as it couldn't handle the g forces. Plus the buttons were rubbish and wouldn't have lasted long as they needed to be pressed rather hard to get them to work!
Hope this helps!

I use the Tom Tom app. It's free and because it is interactive, it's relatively up-to-date.

I've never compared it back-to-back with Waze but it's never missed one when I've been using it.

slum it (lol) get an android (oh the horror) and use the tomtom speed camera app, it can work in overlay mode so on top of google maps, it will tell you of fixed cameras, red light cameras, reported mobile ones, accidents, congestion, roadworks etc, it's very good. Oh and it's free and no ads!
