Hi, I recently sold my Maserati MC Stradale and am on the hunt for something new. I have 4 cars that I have in mind and a budget of circa £100k:

F340 manual

599 GTB

V12 VANTAGE S manual

R8 V10 manual

Looking for something that will hold a strong residual.

Granted a nice problem to have, but appreciate your thoughts on the matter....

I'll sell you my manual r8 v10 spyder with 18.5k miles on it for low 50's - at £100k they're all gen 2 and therefore twin clutch jobbies. Doubt theres a manual gen 1 listed above 70k.

Very different cars, think they'll all hold value well. Really depends what you are after. I went from a vanilla Maserati GT to a V8 R8, it's a huge step up is a drivers car honestly.
FWIW I think the 2 Ferarris you've picked are really showing their age a bit now, to my eyes the Vantage & Gen 1 R8 are much more timeless
I'd imagine the F cars would cost a hell of a lot more to run than the Audi or Vantage.
Not much point having rock solid residuals on a £85k car if you're spending £5k a year maintaining them

Think the F340 is out of budget. Plus not many around, 3 or 4 I think wink

Anyway, probably the worst time to buy if depreciation is on your mind. All marques are taking a hit. Some more than others but residuals are anyone's guess at the moment. Buy what you can afford, drive it, enjoy it and try not to think about the money. For me it would be the 599, then the V12S and a F430 as a last resort. 599 is probably a good shout ref. residuals ... but who knows.

I had a 430 manual. Really not as special as people who haven't owned one think. Save your money and buy a 360 which is very similar and more involving (and sounds better). 599 is a big step up, as any V12 is.

430 manual - over-hyped and prices are on the way down. 599 have probably bottomed and may even be on the rise. R8 v10 will continue to depreciate.
599 would be my choice, but unless you are friends with a good indie, could be a bit service hungry, and don't mention fuel bills..!

Gen 1 V10 R8 very understated, likely low depreciation and probably the cheapest to run too.

V12VS then. It's an Aston so will get lots of love out there, the rest won't.

Thanks for all suggestions.
I'm currently edging towards R8. Found a facelift manual spyder for 70k, although the current number plate worries me! Lol..

Or this one with more miles but only 50k and great spec:

Thoughts?

For my money it would be the second one unless you prefer a Spyder. Good spec and sensible mileage and with the money saved you are free to do other mods to personalise it.

Very different cars and you really need to drive both types. Mine is a manual because I wanted something I felt to be more engaging in a weekend car, but that can open an entirely new debate as well.

If you're genuinely considering either of the above then let me know. My offer above was a little tongue in cheek but if my car isnt better than both of those I'll reimburse your travelling and inspection costs...

Just reduced my fathers black manual v10 spyder.. lots of idiots with px offers etc calling up but not any serious offers at the higher price so have reduced it. Now the cheapest v10 manual spyder on autotrader I think. Is so much car for the money I am considering going half each with my brother and keeping it, just bought an lp570 otherwise would have it myself.
