458 was £150k. 430/Cali 70-90k. I’m more comfortable having the lower amount of money in something I rarely use. The speed differential on public roads is irrelevant as you can’t use the full power of a 430, let alone the 458. Depends on the type of road and driver ofcourse F430 Spyder is a good call
Here are my £80K choices, they happen to be sub £80k which is always a bonus. I'm more into GT cars as opposed to mid engined stuff.
One of my neighbours has a 458 amoungst other things and another neighbour has an R8 V10. They struggle to use them due to the condition of the roads around here. On the rare occassions they do go out I see them crawling along at 20mph avoiding the pot holes and oncoming mad weekend drivers in the middle of road. Never mind the packs of lycra clad cyclists we have swarming around here.
I currently own a V6 and a V8 so I'm only really interested in adding a V12.
These float my boat. None of them resemble any of your choices, but sometimes a different point of view can be refreshing.

Some great choices there for 70-75k, can't believe that 550's are now at the price. Of those 3 though, it would be close between the Ferrari and V12 vantage but would have to be the V12 Vantage for me - unbelievable value for money at the moment, fantastic to drive and that one from Rikon is stunning, even more so looking at the age, mileage etc. As great as it is, am not sure I'd fancy trying to sell a 50k miles, 25yr old Ferrari in a few years...

Funny I've never looked at it like this but you're probably right! The 550 is an interesting car for sure though. Would love one but fear the bills following Metcalf using one as a dd.The newer stuff brings big bills too, one cracked light following a stone was not covered on McLaren manufacturer warranty, cost, £5500. I've also heard many more stories so older is cheaper for sure on maintenance and parts, lots of 2nd hand Ferrari parts through dealers all over the world and if its a weekend car the older Fcars are easy to work on, even I did ball joints and manifold change on my F430 and I'm no mechanic, loved it, took my time, cheap as chips. as long as you go main dealer for services the rest I'd have a go at now, I was encouraged by Ferrari Owners Club members all with knowledge or new someone to give advice.
I sort of see that point, but if the OP has saved up to buy his first supercar, the prospect of having to fork-out a five-figure repair 12 months later puts a very different strain on the house-hold budget compared to the same five-figure loss as and when they decide to sell it on.

Come on, making stuff up just to scare the OP doesn't help. New headlight for a 570s, £1,500. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-GENUINE-MCLAR...That's about the same price as a headlight for an old Aston Vantage and half the price of a headlight for a F430.
