Thank you for the condolences, my father-in-law was a few weeks short of 103, lived a great, rewarding, honorable life, and we will miss him terribly, but he certainly didn't get cheated. So here are finally some pictures from Best of France and Italy Car show. Eleven Panteras showed although I was expecting about twice that many. The bright blue (Mustang grabber type of blue) one seen in one of the pictures is my next door neighbor's car, and three of the red ones belong to me and two other friends. The beautiful burgundy GTS belongs to a Pantera vendor and restorer who owned a Lincoln Mercury dealership that used to sell Panteras. The car is stunning. And finally the picture of the car that looks like a tractor is what Jay Leno brought to the show, and if you enlarge the photo, you'll see him sitting behind the wheel. And finally, I couldn't help myself and had to post a picture of a stunning Bizzarini that like the Pantera is a hybrid of Italian design and build and American muscle V8. Enjoy!

Just catching up on this thread.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your father in law, tberg, but 103 is what we Brits would call 'a good innings'.

Lovely photos and your Pantera out shines the rest imo. Thanks for sharing.

The De Tomaso club put on a nice spread at the NEC this weekend, four Panteras and a Mangusta, I didn't manage to photograph all of them but here are a few shots...

Very sorry to hear about the death of your father-in-law tberg, Wow at 103 he must have been able to tell some stories,

Looks a fun meeting i should imagine with plenty of french eclectic cars there,

When i use to go to a De Tomaso meeting here it was a job to get 10 cars there and that would be a UK club meeting,

lucky many Ferrari's and Lambo's would hear about it and made up the numbers but 11 Pantera's all local to you

just goes to show how many more were sold in the States.

Nice to see the sun was shinning on you once again, we had a couple of cracking days here so think yourselves lucky for that.

Thanks for posting and keeping the De Tomaso interest going over here as we hear nothing from the UK club on this forum

or owners for that matter.

The white Pantera is on you tube, the owner lives in Southampton along with the 2 red ones both owned by his mate

They,ve both owned them for years so got in at the bottom of the market when nobody seemed to want them.

It was quite an eyeful looking at those five De Tomasos lined up in the hall yesterday, right about now they'll be on their way home from the NEC, imagine the noise.... cloud9

The only downside to going to the show is it's giving me ideas again... rolleyes

I would consider that a upside rather than a downsidescratchchin,

Sometimes we need a gentle shove and i always feel lifted after leaving the show

infact i'm positively dangerous and would come out of there owning 10 more cars

if i had the money and the space. If all those De Tomaso's were all heading the same direction that would be quite a sight

but unfortunately most will be trailered home, Coming home from there one Sunday nlght in the Alfa GTA

i picked up some headlights coming up quickly ,we stayed together for a good few miles but couldn't quite make out

what it was so slowed to let him pass, turned out to be another Alfa but a road registered racing GTV that had been on the Alfa stand at the show

With a toot from it's air horns and the passenger waving i took chase.

Had a blast for the next half hour or so in convoy trying to keep up with him ,he certainly knew how to drive but i had to stop at Chieveley services

when my petrol light came on, good job to as i'm blind as a bat on unlit roads at night and it would have only been a matter of time before i either

crashed or both of us would have ended up in court after being nabbed by the old bill.

I know i should know better at my age but unlike back in the day this doesn't happen to often, rolleyes

lovely pictures with cars, good meeting, I also like that black pantera, hm, I spot also some nice ols Maserati's, a Merak and a sebring?

My dad (not anymore under the living since 2005) also owned 2 Maserati's, first a Biturbo, later a nice Maserati Shamal.
Also my younger twin sisters own a lovely classic Maserati, a 4000 Mistral, today I've heard they probably thinking of selling it, they have not driven it for more then a year ... there car is always in a special house were it is parked under special cloth and warmth and 10 times a year polished and cared for even without driving? also very expensive... in Amsterdam.

So they thinking of selling, they are very busy so driving that free day car will not come soon and they know its better that its driven occasionally.

Considering we don't hear much about De Tomaso's on here or anywhere else the club always make a good effort for the NEC

along with the GT40,Hawk Cobra,Ferrari,Lamboghili and vintage Bugatti clubs but Porsche always seem to have the most cars there,

a sea of 911's.one for every year and model. A little pissed that i missed it this year looking at all the video's and photo's,

Just being lazy really rolleyes

Porsche stand was disappointing. Not many interesting cars there IMO which definitely let them down.

I am a Porsche owner as well so no axe to grind with my comments.

Those five DTMs were a lovely sight, I bet they even sounded nice just parking up inside the hall.

The rest of my NEC pics are here... https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... I came home with a shopping list as long as your arm - Italians, Brits and Yanks mostly wink

Attended an early morning car meetup near Pasadena in southern California this morning. 11 Panteras showed up in many different "flavors," including mine and two of my friends. Then we all "thundered" off to breakfast at a local eatery waking up the entire neighborhood.

Couldn't think of a better way to be waken up thumbup

As a teenager when still living with my parents in a valley their neighour

who owned a 246 Dino and a Lambo Jarama and lived at the

top of valley use to drive down one side on overrun then scream up

the other side on full throttle ,did this most days first thing

in the morning in one car or the other , I must have had the most expensive

alarm clock ever yes

Hey rat rod,
My neighbors aren't too happy with my startups every Sunday morning before 7am when we leave to go off to one car meet or another. My next door neighbor who also has a Pantera (since new in 1973), but who rarely drives his, calls me his "Sunday morning alarm clock," and usually joins a group of us with one of his other not quite so loud cars.
