NIJ5250, later 500FAB and now AGT379W is a well known car in the owners club. Originally owned by Phil Stebbings who started the De Tomaso Drivers Club back in the 80s and drove the car extensively on circuit including Castle Combe. It had a race engine in his ownership but since converted back to a Windsor spec V8. I owned the car a couple of years back - photo as below
I know one of the later owners very well, did an awful lot of work to the car and it was absolutely fabulous. This was us setting off to the 2012 Le Mans Classic, a very noisy pair.

I think its also the car that makes a very brief appearance in this advert:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWOGVWBBW6U
I think this car is currently for sale with Simon Furlonger

Every Sunday my next door neighbor and my friend from a few blocks away, each of us Pantera owners, attend one or more car gatherings. In Los Angeles, on any given Sunday there are several dozen large scale gatherings from which to choose. The one attended today was a weekly gathering called Supercar Sunday which always has a large turnout 500-1000 cars with its usual collection of a couple of hundred Porsches, McLarens, Corvettes, Lambos and Ferraris . But usually , me and my friends are the only Panteras even though Southern California is home to many hundreds of Panteras. Next Sunday is "Panteras in the Park" event, and I'll take many pictures and post them after next Sunday. Below is a picture of mine at a Classic Car Show a little while back. Stay tuned...
Hi tberg,Nice to see you still up and about in the Pantera unlike us who are just about to go into winter

We had a good summer by English standards but seem to have a early autumn with almost no stop rain for

the last couple of weeks which is going to make it a long winter, Not quite sure why i'm still living here confused

Here in Los Angeles, we only get about 4 or 5 days of rain per year and even in the winter the temperatures are quite moderate. So car shows and get togethers are year round affairs with no breaks. Too many of them from which to choose. Come on out, you can take the Pantera while you're visiting.to any show you'd like.

Thank you, very generous of you , most guys would rather lend you their wifes than their cars, laugh

I much prefer the cleaner lines of yours Tberg over the flares and wings of the GT5
Are there any differences elsewhere?

what I do not understand, on the rear of some Pantera's it says GTS for a GTS but on others the same GTS letters but the owners call it GT5 it does look like a S see the GTS badges, not a 5

just wondering.

Who are the dealers?
They look to have interesting stock
Think they are in Yorkshire .

The car is listed on "Car&Classic" classifieds ,up for a fiver less than £180,000
I fell in love with this at the Festival of Speed this year. The dealer had it on display there. Back then it was up for 194,995. It was showing as sold about a month after FOS on the dealer website.

Sounds like the buyer got Goodwood fever and got carried away with the moment and had second thoughts when waking the next morning

or completely slipped his mind to mention it to the wifey .yikes

Ha yeah wives have a way of reintroducing reality back.into our lives.
When I first introduced the idea I was buying a new 'toy' as a retirement gift to myself the budgets discussed were no where near what I ended up spending so I think I got off lightly but can well imagine the strife it could create smile

HIS LM,
I absolutely agree with you. The flared GT5 and GT5S for me did not look as good as Tom Tjaarda's original, tidy design. There are many in the Pantera community who like the wide bodied cars even more but I'm not one of them.

GTRENE,
The GTS and the GT5 and the GT5S were all different models. The GTS, the earliest of the three was differentiated from the regular Panteras with slightly flared fenders and a paint scheme that included a black hood and rear deck while the rest of the car was colored. The original GT5 had riveted on fiberglass flared fenders while the followup GT5S had steel molded in flared fenders. There were slight variations in performance but not much difference. The early narrow bodied cars had two variations , the Pre L (1971-midyear 1972) and the L or Lusso model (mid 1972,1973, 1974) The 1971 cars had the highest compression of all the subsequent years and therefore the highest horsepower until the GT5 cars at 330hp. In 1972 the compression rate was dropped for emission purposes in the U.S., however there was a more aggressive cam installed to recapture some of the horsepower loss from the lowered compression ratio. Mid 1972 also brought the large black front and rear bumpers which replaced the small bumperettes (like my car has) to meet the U.S. federal 5mph bumper standard of 1973. The dashboard also changed mid 1972 from the dual pod dash to a straight across one which had the speedometer and the tachometer flush mounted instead of recessed in the pods. European GTS models had slightly higher performance figures than American GTS ones which only had the cosmetic similarities to the European models.

Thanks Ted.
but how is it that I see badges the same as GTS also as GTS (GT5) so the 5 is the same shape as the S so GTS and GT5 look the same badges, or at least those which I've seen in ads.

look at their badges.

example, here a GTS

here a GT5

I came across these 2 cars in Italy in 2013 ,a closed road hillclimb had taken place and I came along in a rain shower after it had all finished , although I had spent the day at Imola circuit .

Found another car ,from Monza historic meeting 2019

If you say use a desktop pc, you can use the 'Upload an image' button/tekst above the type in field when you want to post your tekst, it then gets into your map of pictures you have stored them and click upload and so on.

then close it to open it again for the next picture, same procedure as many as you want to post in the same field.

something like that :-) good luck posting.
