Personally I think the level of transparency offered by The Market is exceptional and they should be applauded for it.
For a buyer they stand head and shoulders above any other UK platform and I hope they prosper.
Agreed. The problem is that as a seller CC is more attractive. For a buyer they stand head and shoulders above any other UK platform and I hope they prosper.
I've said it before, but if you mix The Market's approach with a fee for the buyer and not the seller that would probably be the sweet spot.
I really like The Market.
The market feels like its for older/ cheaper cars?

And pimping their sales on his Twitter feed. I’m not sure where the idea he’s distancing himself came from?
Not that he gives a st but it became so tedious I stopped following him. "Please stop me from bidding on this amazing/ phenomenal/incredible (add any car)" is so insulting to the reader. He went dramatically down in my estimations and showed he'd sell his nan for some cash or exposure. His denial to highlight obvious negatives, albeit with a positive spin if he likes, added to this. There was a manual csl conversion thing he just kept waxing lyrical about without actually acknowledging it will almost certainly prove a detriment to the final price when it was discussed on his twitter feed. He did the same with some awful 70's lowered mercedes thing. Who's he kidding? Like I said, insulting to ones intelligence.

No reason to expect Chris Harris will be ignored by the BBC detectives.
This F430 seems to have been sold very cheaply - £61,450 including the CC buyer's fee looks to be quite a steal, and I'm surprised there wasn't more interest in it - https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2005-ferrari-f...

Hmm, I’ve bought and sold cars on the Collecting Cars platform and only found them diligent and thorough. Comes across as enthusiasts, professional and knowledgeable. Larger group of buddies also used them for selling and buying anything from sub 10k to 200k plus cars. All of them happy and will continue using CC. None of us have any affiliation whatsoever.
Chris have zero stake or gain from CC. Been sharing a few of the cars he likes. Mate helping out a mate, as we all do, no need to speculate any further.
Not arguing CC are perfect, every biz can improve and finesse, they have come from nowhere to everywhere in a short period of time. CC appear to continue enhancing their biz model and processes. Impressive achievements imv.

I have also bought through Collecting Cars. The car in question was a 997.1 GT3 Clubsport. The car was as billed, came from a great collection. Found them to be professional and super helpful with any questions etc. Also received a follow up call after a few weeks to see if I was happy with the car.
6 months back I sold an AMG GTS through CC.
It was during the first lockdown and not an easy time to sell cars (more uncertainty then than now).
I didnt get a good price (due to the market) but CC were very helpful and responsive.
No company is perfect and always room for improvement but overall was happy with my experience.

It’s not just zippy, been watching repeat user names bidding since the start. They bid up to the reserve then obviously drop off the side of the earth.
Cc just want cars ok their site, the couldn’t care less about history, condition or who’s bidding as long as it gets to the reserve they get paid.
I recently bought a car off the CC site and couldn't be happier.Cc just want cars ok their site, the couldn’t care less about history, condition or who’s bidding as long as it gets to the reserve they get paid.
The details were spot on , the transaction was smooth and i had a follow up call from Lara there just to check all was in order so personally i can't fault it.
I found more transparency on the site than on others i've viewed

Like GTSJoe, I bought a 997.1 GT3 Clubsport from CC, met with the owner before the end of the auction to view the car however to make sure I was happy with the car, car was as described, photo's reflected the car for sale & description matched. No complaints from my end.

Please don't tell people not to speculate, when it comes to money folks have every right to be cautious and suspicious and speculate. Especially when there is so little buyer protection involved. This is the only hedge against downside risk.Chris have zero stake or gain from CC. Been sharing a few of the cars he likes. Mate helping out a mate, as we all do, no need to speculate any further.

Do people think CH could be in breach of whatever social media impartiality/objectivity clauses there are the BBC contract?
In the interest of balance, pursuing the recent Silverstone auction results indicates 911 prices are strong for specialist models. Some really cool distinctive cars in here: https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/events/2020-au...
and https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/events/2020-au...
That peach coloured 911 was in the coming auctions on CC IIRC.
