Just to add my two cents worth with regard to the original question. For us it's a case of work hard, save a bit, invest a bit but don't blow too much money on crap you don't really want or need. It often comes with time and a great many Ferrari owners I've met are far from 'rich'. Comfortable and financially sorted yes, rich no.

Like others have said, we don't have kids and an effort was made to pay the house off early. We split the disposable between nice holidays and a cash-purchased 360 and the lack of any real debt made the decision to buy an unnecessary Ferrari quite an easy one.
Yes, I think there is this camp plus very senior execs / big company owners / sold a company types who buy everything new coming out.

I don't think you have read my post very well - all my opinions are in there. Thanks.
"Maserati GT is a brilliant and inexpensive entry to the world of beautiful exotic cars and unbeatable at the price, not in any way a supercar though" - why not?

Many think the same about audi, as its, well, a boring audi.....numb....compared to italian stalion of a maser with better looks, sounds and rarity.

Why not...!. There is a big clue in his post, it's because it's a big 4 seater GT it's not a supercar it's a GT.

Gallardo have a reputation for eating clutches I don't know if it's deserved
I have a manual gallardo. No such problem with clutches (if you treat it with respect). Nice open gated gear box. Sheer driving pleasure.

Again? Really?

Neither car is a supercar or they both are, who cares?

I don't think they are but it doesn't matter to me when people think they are.

(Can't let it slide as easily when someone says a Nissan GTR is though)

So by that logic a Ford GT is not a supercar?

This argument about whether your car is a supercar or not is so tiresome. No one gives a st except you people are arguing about it. Buy what you fking like and enjoy it. Jesus.

Nissan GTRs are animals! Feels like driving a race car. I personally found it a more exciting vehicle than my F430 Spider was, and some would say that was a super car in its day.

Not at all. Nothing against children but for us it just didn't fall that way. Life choices and all that, coupled with my wife and I getting together in our late thirties. There's no right and wrong and I only mentioned it because it's an expense that didn't affect us.

Ok so i am totally regretting using the words R8 and Maserati in the same sentence. First off they are both nice cars and actually I spoke to a car dealer today who sells cars that most people cant afford, like the Ferrari La Ferrari and P1 including the Chiron. The owner states that the Audi R8 V 10 is a under rated supercar but its not classed as a super car. No arguments enough said. This is how to save for a Super Car not what is a super car and not what isn't.

Has anyone seen the Youtuber Exotic car hacks ? If so anyone know if the process works or just allot of marketing rubbish ?

They cost a fortune I agree, they say each child to 18 is roughly 100-150k each!

More like double that at least.

Definitely more expensive than running a few supercars lol.

More challenging too.

Kids are expensive. My finance guy said one of the most popular personal loans he does is for kid's private education, followed by cars. £6k a term soon adds up, double that if they're boarding!
