Yup I figured if I have to get an SUV, then at least get something with character - the weight also helps given the trailer plus car is probably 2.5t. Sounds like thunder too
They're a very lovely place to be. Lots of off-piste choices too biggrin

How was the circuit ?
The Salzburgring is ok, but not great. Am looking forward to being at the Red Bull Ring twice next month - that should be fun
Yes that's a corker by all accounts. What rubber are you running ?
Pirelli slicks (I assume a hard compound) - 235 front and 295 rear
Not sure I am allowed to share videos (if not, then will have to be removed):

Today: Phone a bloke called Tony, who has a bag of parts belonging to a guy called Omegod, which should include a brand new genuine GM crank sensor for a 3.2 V6 omega.
Go and pick up the bag.
Tomorrow: Phone my brother in law to help fit the crank sensor to my MV6. (I had a moderate heart attack 6 weeks ago so i need him to help because it needs jacking up to get access to the passenger side of the Engine near the back)
Saturday. Agree a price for a full Jetex and 3.0 Cats and drive to the Wirral to pick them up.
Sunday. Weld a new boss to Cats for the extra sensors the 3.2 has.
Monday. Drop off car and exhaust at a mechanic to fit. Plus get them to change the gearbox filter and oil. (They are in my boot)
Tuesday. See if Vauxhall dealer will do me a new battery at a trade club price.
Thursday, drive wife's car to new job.

That looks great - nice job. The 430 is such a perfect match of power and grip, 500bhp makes it rapid enough to quickly reach the limits of grip but not powerful enough to rely on point and squirt to get round some of the newer cars on track. Requires smooth driving on the limits and beyond to be really fast around a circuit. You're a fortunate man - enjoy.

That looks like good fun and well planted.
Used to run Pirelli P Zero C which were good in dry but could get dramatic in wet, despite being street legal.

Shorts and T Shirts ? That's a whole new world biggrin

I wore jeans initially, but it was so bloody hot - basically stepped out of a sweat puddle after a 20min stint smile
Yes was good fun - am looking forward to next month (not so much to trailering the car for 4 hours to get there)

Thank you - feel fortunate to be able to experience this for a little while
