Main dealer up in Glasgow has this for sale.


Anyones on here or does anyone know the history?

I don't know the car first hand but I can tell you the sales history if it is of any use:

I believe supplied new by JCT600 Leeds. 3 owners in total.
For sale by JCT November 2020 to December 2020, asking £257,000 then £239,995 (1044 miles). Sold to second owner.
For sale by Graypaul Edinburgh on and off from February 2021 to September 2021, asking £229,000 (1152 miles, then 1387 miles, then 3997 miles, then 4173 miles). Sold to third owner.
For sale by Graypaul Glasgow from June 2022, asking £235,000 (7783 miles).

Would be good to hear thoughts and opinions on this.

I’m almost ready to go for this car but I’m also looking at a 488 GTB with all carbon which is about £35k less.

I’m just not sure the f8 is the touch better to make it worth while. I’ve also been told the 488 gtb should sound better too.

Any thoughts?

Hi Craig, hope you enjoyed the ownership of my old 458?
The F8 is a 10% better car than the 488 in all areas other than sound. I really couldn’t believe how much the gpf’s affected the sound (for the worse). Definitely try before you buy. I think a nice 488GTB at c£170k is a good buy, but only a £35k difference would be difficult to justify as the F8 will likely maintain a good premium over the coming years.

Hey,

Yes, loved the 458. Sold it and got the Perf but now want to come back to Ferrari.

Your thinking is where my head is at now.

I’m going to test drive a 488 and F8 back to back. Like you say the F8 should retain its value better over a 488 and you can see that in the balloon payment on both.

But.: a 488 should sound better and it’s a good £40k cheaper so my head is Scrambled.

Owned a 488 and driven an F8. The one area the F8 trumps the 488 is the steering feel and weighing, the best steering of any modern Ferrari IMO. In other objective areas not much in it, say 10% better in F8 in terms of handling, ride, engine poke etc.
On a subjective basis I prefer the looks of the F8 by quite a margin but the 488 sounds better and louder. Personally would get an F8 especially if you buy through finance where the monthlies can be coaxed to be similar to the 488

I’m going to test drive it but I feel spoilt having had a 458 and a Perf, two of the best sounding cars out there IMO.

I’ve watched a load of YouTube videos and the F8 from outside sounds, well poor.

488 sounds better.

I agree the f8 looks better.

Not wishing to offend anyone but the best way to describe the sound of a F8 is PANTS.

Had an extended weekend test drive in one 6 months ago but gave it back to the dealer by 12.00 on the Saturday.

Was very disappointed with the car apart from the throttle response and lack of lag which was mighty impressive.

If sound is a big part of your supercar experience the F8 won't be the car for you unless you spend £15k on a novitec system via scuderia systems.

Ferrari dealer knew I wouldnt like the F8 sound but didn't expect me to return it after first day of a 4 day test drive.
However they did say they would still warrant the car if I put an aftermarket exhaust on it but then with my spec,PPF and exhaust it was over £300k ( list price minus accessory discounts )

Strange, I love the sound of my F8, to be fair I get bored quickly with shouty exhausts, had loads & the appeal wears off quickly for me now, probably coz I'm over 50! frown

Have to agree, it’s a big plus for not to have the thing announcing my arrival from a mile away. I’ve got a Ducati for that and it gets tiring. Given that it’s very quiet at idle, other than start up and that’s where I miss the noise (drama) other than that it’s very good.

Going to test drive the f8 tomorrow. Was meant to be today but the rain here was awful so tomorrow it is.

So went for a test drive today.

The car itself was mint. Great car and nice place to be. Very similar to the 458 obviously.

However the noise. All I can hear is turbo. There was some grumbles and noise but mostly turbo.

So I’ve said no to an f8 for now. Shame as otherwise it was excellent. So it seems I have no real option that go for a 458 again. Pista would be the answer but can’t afford that realistically.

Same conclusion as me re F8 then and that the 488 pista is logical ferrari step.
In my case I would want an aperta and they are over £400k which is a bit rich for me, even with the euro millions win

Spec for spec you're into £60k difference I recon - the very best 488's are £175-195k, whilst F8's start around £235-240k but they often don't have front lift and looked lightly optioned. An F8 is £250k for a really nice one kit wise when I looked, whereas you have better value 488's at £170k even from a dealer, rising to around £185k for 1k miles, basically brand new, and well spec'd one.

JCT Leeds had a 1k miles 488 for £184k from memory that I saw the other day and was basically brand new. Can't see it on their website now. They had some great stock though, maybe 7 x 488's all in amazing condition with nice options.
