The 575 got slated on its release, too soft was the main theme. Looking at Top Gear magazine they don’t make any complaints (have not read it in full though)

But this car does have the Handling pack, I have driven two cars (550’s), one with the pack and one without. What I noticed was the one with the pack was stiff but nicely damped. It handled very very well differently to the one without. There was no real difference until you started pressing hard.

The 550 is too good a car though.. most cars don’t leave the factory with the same geometry setup so have Ferrari quietly modded the 575 or was the early test car not well setup ?

This is an area we've already debated quite a bit actually okey - good point though - I haven't read the Top Gear test but it's VERY VERY interesting that Ferrai UK have felt the need to provide a 575M with the FHP whereas previously they had provided a stock 575M. What does this say about a) what they KNOW about the 575 themselves and b) the competition?
From the press opinion (which I no longer give any respect to) it would appear that the FHP should be a standard fit item for real drivers who want the extra grunt of the 575.

I have never driven a 550 with the handling pack but it's meant to perhaps over-stiffen what is already a fantastically well-balanced car. The FHP certainly LOOKS the part on a 550 - I'd probably get a 550 FHP for the look alone when the time comes...
