ferrari need a favour here and with the upcoming 12c manual, lightweight non hybrid 296 and v12 manual ltd edition sp car, there won't be a shortage of people willing to help

I think it's the worst looking ferrari ever made by far, could they have not just asked a few peoples opinion on the styling

Former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has expressed major concerns over Ferrari s new Luce project, warning the brand could damage its legendary identity with the direction it is taking

Personally I have to agree with him.

Not an automotive channel, but more a sci/tech channel, but Cleo is a very good presenter and interviewer and this video just popped up on my subscriptions, and it is about the new Ferrari Luce and she is talking to the designers of the car, a very informative video I found.

She looks like a model, and that's a really good interview. I can't help but feel slightly awkward though about the undercurrent of shame over what they've done. fking squircles.

Right chaps, I think it s safe to say we need to buy up the good stuff now before the price rockets. Let s be honest here, this thing just pushed up the price of proper Donkeys , designed by proper Italians, by several grand.
We said the same thing!

The ‘real’ Ferraris, aka petrol engined ones has just become so much more collectible!

So sad to see this.

Got about a minute in before I got pissed off
"The man who brought us touch screens wants us to touch fewer screens".

Ive did no such thing. Touchscreen phones were available for years before the iPhone. I was working in the mobile phone industry at the time and there is this a weird collective retconning about the first gen iPhone where people have convinced themselves it was much more revolutionary than it was technologically. The really revolutionary part, the bit that made the iPhone what it was and resulted in its success, was the user interface and the natural intuitive way it worked. That interface was mostly the work of Scott Forstall, not Ive.

Hardware wise the 1st gen iphone was pretty lacklustre in a lot of places, lacking features like live location data, 3G data connectivity and a high resolution camera, that were already considered pretty standard in the industry. I remember at the time being really surprised how poor it was at launch and predicting - very, very wrongly as it turned out - that it wouldn't be a success as a result. But as it turned out people really loved that user interface.

BYD?

The attention this is getting is off the charts no doubt it will sell but not to any current Ferrari enthusiasts.

But they are not the target market.

What will be interesting is whether Ferrari can pull off the trick of addressing a new demographic without putting their existing customers off buying the other cars.

And whether they will really insist that people wanting the next special car buy this? that might prove too much of a stretch even for Ferrari, it's so different from their usual style.

It's not a bad looking car in itself, just very different to what people expect Ferrari's to look like.

The detailing is immaculate.

I'm actually coming round to it after the initial shock, I think the looks may age well once people get used to it.

Really?
The interior seems nice enough, and I am sure the quality will be superb, but it it just looks like what I'd expect from a premium hatchback or SUV.

Here is the interior of the BYD seal, the tesla model Y, the polestar 3 and the volvo EX60

And here is the Luce. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Ferrari looks the same, it does look different to the cabins above, but I definitely wouldn't call it unique or impressive. It's just a nice cabin for an expensive family car. In absolutely no way do I go "Wow, they've really broken the mould there". The only thing I can point at that in any way says "Ferrari" to me is the slightly retro wheel; which I will admit is quite nice. The rest could be from literally any of the manufacturers above. The BYD and Volvo even manage to have some physical buttons and switches.
