Not to mention 14 years on the 348 is the new 355.
Funny isn't it, but 14 years later the 458 is as old as the 348 was then.
Not exactly - age wise, in 2006 the 355 would have been the equivalent of the 458 now. But it is a very interesting point.

In 2006, I guess the current Ferrari was the 430. I'd say that was a big change from the 355 (although the 355 -> 360 was probably the really big one).

If we compare 488 to 458, the obvious difference is the turbo - but the overall the changes seem much smaller to me that the equivalent period 14 years ago? Although if you bring in other manufacturers, I guess we now have carbon extensively used by McLaren.

ETA - it's curious actually, that 14 years ago I'd say the 355 was one of the most beautiful Ferrari's. Fourteen years later, I still think that's true - but the equivalent 458 now is also one of the best in my opinion.

Quite like 348s tbh.

Putting cars down like that on Pistonheads is a bit of a cheap shot, many people would aspire to own such a car.
Seriously? Your giving an opinion of banter that were talking about 14 years ago....14 years ago rolleyes
Back then not many aspired to get a 348 biggrin
You really have to know how we used to talk siht back then, it was banter towards sy who used to give it back. wink

The 355 is still prettier than anything that came later.

But 14 years ago, as today, I prefer the steering feel of the 348 to a 355. The over-light steering and too many turns (rectified on the FHP cars) remains the weakest point on an otherwise great car.

+1

I said that back in the day, and still agree. Both points, but especially the steering.

Yeah, I know, but it's just not the same when you're driving German!
Now that is a blast from the past. That 3.2 Carrera was gorgeous

Suddenly having a lot of time on my hands I have taken a look at Club Scuderia a few times over the past week or so.
It isn't dead but it isn't nearly as busy as it used to be when I was a 'proper' member.
