Test Drive: Car review 1974 Lamborghini Espada; Two-plus-two equals success
". . . purportedly the only Espada ever to come from the factory fitted with a white leather interior."
I guess not then. Toms car has a white leather interior too.

Incredibly good thread about one of Lambo's finest.
Now did I tell you how I dropped my schoolbag in shock at seeing a yellow Espada in bleak Greenock, Scotland during the late 70's. Carlo, if you're on here...it was your Dad's car and that drive up to Kilmacolm that instilled my love for all things Lambo. I thought of you when we visited the Museum @ Sant' Agata a few weeks back.
Nice work Dinkel.

... I'm off to Florida to the Orlando Festival of Speed next week so I may get to see this white Espada, unique interior or not ...
Apparently, some chap called Valentino is the guest of honour at the event and he and I will be meeting on Friday 08 when I will not be asking for his autograph once again - it's the first time since 2006 that I've been able to not ask him, so I'm looking forward to that. There used to be quite regular opportunities not to do so and hopefully, there'll be lots more in the future!
Albert - I like the way this thread keeps reappearing every so often like an old pal with new stories to tell each time!

Fantastic pictures.
I had almost forgotten how good (and low) they look. I recall in the 70's, when I was a lad, drooling over an Espada which was frequently parked up at the Bieldside Inn, just outside Aberdeen. It was owned by a wealthy local fish merchant Joe Little. The plate was 250 JOE.

Sir Maxwell Joseph the Hotelier owned an early Series 1 Espada when he lived in Gloucestershire in the late 1960's. I do not have any photos of it or recall the colour. Perhaps someone who is up on the Espada histories will be able to enlighten us. In the days of Austin Cambridges and Morris Oxfords it was like something from another planet in our sleepy country town.
Espada is a beautiful car and still looks as good today as it did in 1968.
