Wondering what came of my old Countach QV

After owning it for 5 years, doing a full bare metal paint and engine and box rebuild I sold it after a very good offer, but now I'm just wondering if anyone still sees it about?

Reg was C701 BYX, Red with White Leather, rear wing with no side skirts.

Take a look at the profile for ianqv, I think that'll answer your question. Ian has been in contact with me after I said about my plans to buy a Countach or Diablo, hopefully this year. Not to offer his car I should stress, just to offer advice and have a chat. Seems like a very nice guy, and his car looks just stunning. Hopefully I'll get to meet him and see his car in the metal one day.

Glad it's made it into the hands of a fellow PH'r. I put a lot of time, effort and money into that car to make it one of the very best out there.

Glad it's not just festering in a garage somewhere!

have you missed any good ones off? and do you only keep them for 6 months each?!

I seem to remember you've had the 240R for a while though.

Most cars only last a few months, only special ones last longer.

Countach was 5 years

240R is now over a year and is quicker on most tracks than the GT3 RS (even if the Porsche boys don't believe me but as I have both....)

Wingfield C-Type lasted 4 years and went to Italy and France for several events and was my brothers wedding car (wife, wedding dress, only one door!!!)

the 63 Mini Cooper Rally car has done 15 events and lasted 8 years and counting

Finally my first car, the Spitfire is still going strong 20 years later has had far too much money spent on it and it really irritates Elan owners with it's pace and handling, but still feels like a spitfire!

Sadly most dissapointing car must go to the F40, think the wild hipe and the reality just didn't match up for me.... what with turbos blowing and other issues...

shame that the F40 wasn't all you expected, for me they're the definitive supercar, and i'd love one!

F40 was the definative for me before I owned one as well... the driving expereince just didn't live upto the dream. My suggestion is keep it as a dream and don't buy one! If you get a chance for a drive you'll love it, thrust from the engine is great, it's once you spend some time and get to know the car well the short comings start to poke through the 'oh my god I'm driving my own F40!'

Is that the car i have in an old car mag driven by tiff needell? If you owned the car for 5 years you must be the guy that blew the engine heading towards le mans chasing a f355? I must stop collecting car mags, i sound like a stalker!
