It's unusual to feel exhaust gasses if it's the Manifold as they are enclosed in a metal casing filled with Glass Fibre, this sometimes produces white dust around the engine bay/ exhaust area when it's a manifold problem. It's also more normal to hear a ticking noise when it's manifold depending on the size of the hole! (sounds horribly like a failed tappet)

So hopefully it's just a loose joint somewhere

thanks for that

not sure wat it can be, if you stand behind the car and lean in as far as you can go then put your arm dowm the right hand side of the engine past the tubi etc nearly opposite the air ducts on the outside of the car thats were the blowing is, are there any pipes down in that area?

Whereabouts are you in the UK FSTEVE ?

If you're in the Midlands, take the car to Damax.

They'll have a quick peek and tell you whats wrong.

Top lads too.

PS: I have no connection with Damax other than having great service from them.

It's not just the cooling fans blowing hot air about is it?

Probalby best to get it checked out, if you're in the South you could drop it into QV in Ascot who I'm sure will advise

btw if it is the Manifold QV do rebuilt ones that are better than original and around £400 each although it is 5 hours labour for the RHS as the Oil tank has to come out!!!

well found out the blowing is the cooling fan (doh) but the exshaust is still making a burburing sound instead of the clear throaty sound as before, been to graypaul and jeff round the corner, and it has got to go on the computer to find out wats up with it as it sounds like its missing sometimes? still idles fine and power still the same, but theres a bad exshaust smell in the cockpit so i will have to wait till thursday to fine out wat it is.
