Courteousy of a nice french chappie on the elise forum!
Thought you might all enjoy the red rocket footage.

This sort of stuff brings smiles to all our faces!
Beware the file sizes though, they are 32 and 25 meg respectively!

Beautiful to see a prancing horse in full flow!!!!

Prancing 'orse ... More like the Hethel Hare .. !!!! Nice one ABZ.

Although let's be honest, track-day footage would just show my Tiv slowly pulling over with year another critical failure ...

Cripes! Quite amusing how he outbrakes them massively and then they out accelerate him by a similar margin!

Being the trackday legend that I so clearly am, I would say that he seems to be moving his hands about on the wheel rather a lot! (I was told off for doing that when I had some instruction on my first/last/only trackday!)

Doesn't seem to be slowing him down a great deal though!

I'm just glad I don't do track days with these guys.

Our French friends seem to have a more laissez-faire attitude to overtaking.

Most UK track day organisers will enforce overtaking on one side only, only on straights (not under braking) and crucially only with the consent of the car in front.

This could, of course, have been a testing day in which case anything goes.

To me that looks like the other drivers were doing normal Track day stuff. And the nob of a driver was putting the others at risk. Idiot

Agreed.... he would have passed me easily as there is no way I would share same track as him.

Didn't see any blue flags though so maybe they new what they were in for!

No wonder the GT-3 and F40 let him go by. Would you really want someone driving that recklessly around your pride and joy?!?

I thought track days were meant to be non-competitive? So whats his friend clapping him for every time he overtakes something?

oh come on - tell me you've never been pleased if you've taken your car past something far more expensive and allegedly faster?

I think, from watching the vid, that none of the drivers are all that great...as there is no way on earth that a well driven F40 would have an elise that close. Were I the driver of the Porsche Id have been VERY p*ssed off with the first overtake attempt, cos he got the angle of attack so comprehensively wrong, but aside from that it seems like well behaved and sprited driving.....

Right, so you're on a trackday in the Diablo, and I come hooning up the inside of you (in a 1300cc Locost) into a corner as you're turning in.

Bet you'd be well chuffed - not.

And before you say "it would never happen", pick a track and you're welcome to find out

That said, I agree that the F40 and Porker were being driven in a fairly pedestrian manner, but that late brake/dive in behind the F40 was a pretty w4nk move if it was a track, not test day.

would never happen...you're right it wouldnt...I wouldnt see which way your locost had gone I doubt...unless its a REALLY open track!

I know what you mean...and he wasn't driving superbly...but I think its hard to see how much room there is from the camera inside the car. I would suggest that if the F40 driver was really bothered he could just have pulled well over and let the elise past....he couldnt have been THAT worried about having his car hit could he?

Well, if I were driving the F40, I would be terribly worried that idiot could have hit my car. Since I could imagine it is very hard to get parts for the car at this point that is.

Frankly if that bloke drove in that manner at any of the Track Days I've been to he would have been black flagged and finished for the day in short order.

Overtaking under braking into the corners...that's RACING...not looking after people's pride and joy...

The Ferrari driver was clearly quite willing to race though...everyone else just seemed to be trying to keep out the blokes way...

Not impressed...

think thats my point. I aint defending the dangerously (certainly from a UK track day p.o.v.) driven elise, just that the F40 driver could have got out of the way like everyone else.....

GT race.....slightly different cars!!
