Hi Guys,

I need some help if possible. I'm looking at purchasing my first Ferrari but have been weighing up the cost of a 348 or a left hand drive F355. I've spotted a F355 for slightly more than my budget but it seems to be a bargin. could you please offer some guidance if the car I've seen is really well priced or am I just looking in the wrong places.

F355
Jan 1998 (R)
Blue with Black Leather
RHD
18k
FSH (Ferrari except for last service which was a specialist in Leeds, belts were done)
£49,995

The cars in Yorkshire and as I'm in London I need to get as much info as possible before I drive 200 miles to have a look.

Cheers

Sounds £10k undervalued to me,,,,have you got the reg number and chassis number ?
I would do a HPI check and check chassis details with Ferrari UK,to see if they have any history of crash repair.
This is small money to spend before going to look at it,then if it looks "Kosher" have it checked out by a reputable Ferrari dealer or specialist..£50k is still a lot of money to spend,,it is always satisfying, walking away from cars if you find out a story as to why it was cheap, rather than getting involved in a nightmare.
It may be a perfectly genuine car,and indeed a bargain, sorry to imply anything negative, but check first..Good Luck.

Cheers Clubsport,

I have spoke to the seller and he said it's HPI clear. He sounded genuine on the phone but being new to Ferrari's I don't think I really asked the right questions. As for the price, thats exactly what I thougt. Others I've seen have been round the 60k mark.

Does anyone know any Ferrari specialists who are willing to go with you to look at a car.

DJ- there's a whole shitpile of things you need to know about before you part with your cash. If I were you I'd call Ajay @ Scuderia Systems (www.scuderiasystems.com). It's what I did when I was looking at 355s, and I'll certainly do it again when looking at used Ferrari. Ajay'll certainly save you money, maybe a lot of it.
BTW, that price doesn't look far out to me.

Thanks Kevin,

just had a look at the website, they've got a nice 348 for sale. I'll be giving Ajay a call tomorrow. As for the price, it seems to be a mixed bag but I've mainly seen 95/96 cars around 50k with the odd 97.
