Agree re passenger ride confusion (even though I failed the noise test!)

At the passenger briefing the instructors offered track familarisation and also tuition but it was nigh impossible to figure out how to arrange either of these after the briefing.

Dogs would have concerned me if I'd have made it to the track - I can't believe they let animals (admittedly on leads) that close to a racetrak - barking mad rofl

Otherwise fantastic effort from you chaps (I know how much work goes into these events) clap

Just to let you know, I went out on the sighting lap right after the briefing, and the guy was really good, did two laps and talked through each corner....was a real help as i had not driven Goodwood before.

When he was flashing me I was behind the mclaren mp4-12c waiting for a safe place to overtake ( never thought I would be saying that) and he came up tight behind me flashing, as said a bit to impatient for a fun trackday.
Who was marshalling the track? I'm amazed this guy did't get taken to one side and given a takingto by the cheif marshall. The track days I've done would never tolerate that behaviour.

Well apologies for the late comments, WOW! it was a great day, think everyones comments have a place and it will be fantastic to build on the success of the event and more importantly the money raised to help the RN&RM Childrens Charity.

I would like to thank all the organisers (and their partners for putting up with them while sorting it) drivers, display cars, stalls, Sporting Bears team and all the public for making the event work in what was a very busy calendar.

Looking forward to seeing some of the cars offering Sporting Bears Dream Rides at Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and also The Supercar Event at Dunsfold.

Sorry for the delay in feeding back, I hd a cracking good day, and would like to thank Simon, Baz, Huw and Max for all their efforts. I'll definitely be back for more next year, I think things were a bit flustered at times but thats what you expect from a fledgling event, as everyone has said, the important thing is that we raise lots of money.

I did the trackday in the morning, and echo some of the comments made earlier. I was actually pretty surprised that it seemed to be the Goodwood staff who had no idea what was happening. It was a physical impossibility for me to get from the drivers briefing, into my car, get it noise tested and into the pit lane in the 30 seconds I had to make my slot as a beginner. I ended up on the track with people far handier than myself, which I'm not sure was the best plan. There seemed to be no way of telling which group was out when and where I should be at what time for the next session, all ended up with me being a little frustrated. Once out on track though, it was ace, and I saw none of the agressiveness mentioned earlier, I was pretty slow if I'm honest, but was pleased that many guys waved to say thanks as I let them through.

As for the Sporting Bears, I had a great time with them in the afternoon, I agree it should be better signposted next year, but I was pleased to get my first ride, and the young lady I took out came back suitably excited by the experience! I'm looking forward to doing some more at the Supercar Event in a couple of weeks.

Finally once again, my sincere thanks to those guys who've stuck their heads above the parapet and organised this, yup it needs a few tweaks, but what matters is that you could be bothered to do this with such enthusiasm and commitment in the first place. Cheers to you all smile

Thanks for you honest feedback mate, in fact thanks to everyone that has helped us pinpoint the omissions and failings, we know why they happened and thats the most important thing, identify them and address them.

Would also like to add that of tonight we are sat at £15,980.22 raised so please all take a bow for helping support out inaugural event.

Thanks for all of the comments guys.

Next year will be a completely different track experience provided that we can secure the sponsorship(hint, hint).

I can't thank the volunteer drivers enough for their input on the day and the 'extras' that helped us out of a pickle. You know who you are. smile

Stroll on next year!!

Thanks again
Simon

It's because they did static at 5200rpm (on a 7k redline), which is bonkers. Week before I did 96db at 4500rpm.....grrr. Still, to give credit where it's due they did let me on to take out pax rides, just had to lift off at the sound monitor stations smile

Maybe I should have told them I was supposed to be doing pax then.....ooops! They wanted 8k rpm out of mine which was actually a little low, they should have asked for 8250!

+1 - they asked for 5200rpm out of a 6500 redline rolleyes

I didn't think of mentioning the charity rides - but then why should I have to?! Bloody good job I hadn't paid anything.

I thought this was standardised at 2/3 max revs from 1 meter away at 45 deg to the tail pipe?
