A thread to capture the administrative tedium of social goings-on from The Thread triumvirate:

///M/Barge

Barge £5-20k

Bargain Barge 1-5

These gatherings are by no means limited to the contributors or lurkers of the above-mentioned threads, though. If you're in the area and fancy meeting up with some PHers, you'll be made very welcome smile

We also have a BookFace page, if you like that kind of thing smile

Right. Get your names down for the inaugural The Thread F1 Karting Challenge.

The event will be held on Sunday 6th May at Whilton Mill where we'll be doing the Dual Sprint. This involves a 20 minute practice session which decides grid positions followed by two 20 minute races. (Maybe a BTCC-style reverse grid for the second race?)

The events starts at 11am (arrive 10.45), so whether you're staying overnight locally or heading there that morning, you shouldn't have to get up too early.

The charge is £65. You need to pay me in advance - either by electronic transfer or (at the latest) in cash at the next Thread drinks in London on 19th April.

We have exclusive use of the circuit during the event and there are 30 places available, so do extend the invitation to friends or other PHers who may not venture inside this thread.

Update:
We'll probably be away from the circuit by 1pm. Shall we have a spot of Sunday lunch before heading our separate ways? (won't be much socialising going on when everyone's got their visor down!)

I'll have a dig around the web for local hostelries, but if you can recommend anywhere close by...

Nah, his 'rarri hasn't got a spec of rust on it

possibly because it's always in bits in the garage that it never gets wet hehe

Its totally rust free as the sodding thing has half a dozen small oil leaks. Engine bay is filthy but rust-free hehe

It's only rust free because you replaced half the chassis though!

There was the small area of subframe, yeah. Good job we spotted that and cut it out. Goes to show what a full service history gets you.

The scary thing is, it all looked solid enough until we started whacking it all with a hammer and screwdriver to check for rust...

We had a Sunday pub lunch meet at the end of last summer - together with a trip to Charlie's rolling road - and we'll certainly do more now we're out of the winter. And the karting is a Sunday jobbie too.

Having spent the Easter holidays with your families and loved ones, you will all no doubt be in great need of alcohol.

So please be invited to an evening of beer and jollity in London's finest neighbourhood.

Yes, it's time to leave the keyboard again and enjoy the sights of London's Mayfair for The Thread Night Out. A stone's throw from Bond Strasse and Berkeley Platz, we'd very much like to make your acquaintance at the Coach & Horses in Hill Street from 5.30pm on Thursday 19th April. (Probably equidistant from Green Park and Bond Street tube)

Please don't feel that being a noisy contributor is in any way a pre-requisite to attending; even if you just quietly follow the triumvirate of Barge-threads you'll be made very welcome in 'real life'.

Stick your name down so we know who to look out for (and please keep the tag below with the names list when you quote so it doesn't get confused with the karting one):

Thread beers - Mayfair 19th April
