Parked in a field with long grass, so at 3pm when I left, it was no problem to get out. Take wellies however!
Felt a bit for the guy in the Carrera GT when he stuffed it in to the straw bales.
Have a good one!
Was that why it was under a cover or did he do it after he took the cover off later on in the day?

I've just got in now, was a cracking day despite the on/off rain.

Would agree with the above, parking was fine, wet grass not muddy, but wellies advisable.

Full marks to Dave with the Nissan GT-R at the Sporting Bears - gave me and my sons a fantastic ride in his amazing car. Want one!!! Also recommend visiting the injured soldiers doing the Paris-Dakar in their Bowlers, giving £5 full on rides in the Wildcat. Great cause and fantastic fun.

Event was good, shame the weather was so showery, and didn't seem to be many owners club stands this year. Beautiful orange Noble M600!

Parking was fine, apart from me dragging half a bail of straw off the field attached to my sills, lowered cars might struggle smile

Great show, I really enjoyed it again. Some fabulous cars there, nice to see them being driven properly too.

Didn't seem as busy as last year though, hardly any supercars in the posh area on the grass. And a few cars missing off the bill, such as the McLaren F1, Veyron Supersport, Maserati Gran Turismo Stradale.

But still a fantastic day.

Loads of photos to work through tonight.

Yup. He span it at that spot so they just took it off the track and popped it under the cover. Due respect to the guys on bikes and those with sidecars. Giving it the beans, on a track no more than 10 feet wide, especially in the wet...

Agree with the comments re club stands. And also seemed to be a lot less in the way of trade stands. Perhaps they've got a tad greedy

A lot of the cars didn't bother due to the state of the grass, the lambo club had not a single car and the Noble guys were a bit depleted.

The sporting bears car park was pretty bad, my car is filthy now. Full respect to the guy in the orange Lambo Superleggara (I think it was) who allowed by car obsessed brother to sit in, start up and give it some revs. Made his day.

Also, a fair few of the cars I was hoping to see weren't there as mentioned above. First time I've seen an XJ220 in the flesh in the way of the racer that was there. Beautiful. The M600 is a stunner and the 1-77 although beautiful seemed a little too refined, not enough noise!

My favourite normalish car remains the new M5, fantastic.

Went down to CPOP for the first time from Manchester, under the idea that we would get in for £2).

At the main entrance none of the 5 people on the gate knew anything about it, but said I could pay £30 then go and speak to the office inside. After their attitude I couldn't be bothered on a Saturday to pay £30 then have to spend time arguing it out.

Left a sour taste so we went to Oulton Park and watched the endurance bike racing. Not quite the same, but it was £13 and excitingly slippy in the wet!

Will try again next year, glad people enjoyed it.

Well i've been to all 5 now...2008 was great , very intimate with lots of names/faces having a day out.2009 was a bit of a dip,2010 was mega,2011 seemed to be a bit mixed up but today was a low point for me...

Missing that I noticed,Dedicated rally stage, classic car clubs, power boat racing??,army seemed to have gone(cutbacks?),lots of spaces in the shedding and lots of cars in the shedding not venturing out, trade stands down on last year.Track cars seemed fairly similar to last few years too

I'm struggling to see what the £30 per head charge is for?? really felt for the families with under 5's as it must have been hellish....

To clash with Le Mans was bizarre to say the least, but it's rained all 5 runnings of CPOP now and yet the organisers seemed surprised??!!(that surely wasn't the intended public car park was it??)

For me the event needs a re-think, I compared it after year 2, to Cheshire Life magazine brought to life, but this year it seemed genuinely random. It's not even comparable to Goodwood sadly this year frown

Good points,scramblers....jet skis...Cobra display...smile

Please don't get me wrong,it would be great to see it as a Goodwood of the north but they need to inject some of the £30 per head into some names/faces (Multiple TT winner aside lol)and condense the show slightly to actually make it feel fuller...

What supercars were there then?
I seen that a maclaren F1, aventador, veyron ss were all highlighted to be there?
Last year was poor. Really was.
Only good thing about last year was the owners stands (lamborghini, ferrari and noble) dealerships bringing their cars like H.R Owen and Stratstone, I failed to see what the organsiers had done out of their own pockets last year?
Glad I haven't gone this year.
I read a few days ago and was under the impression it would have been amazing.

There were very few car clubs simply because the area was such a bog that they closed it and weren't letting any cars in (and quite rightly). I was there on Friday and driving over that ground was a nightmare. I got stuck and had to be towed by a tractor. Car club cars were told to park in the genreal public parking area today. A real shame but there was no other choice. It just seems to be a particularly bad area for water saturation.

Bloody weather!!

GT academy is interesting - 2nd both days. 1st on each day goes to the nationals at Silverstone.. Just missed out frown . Also wish to say thanks to Max. My girlfriend loved her ride in the Rothmans Porsche, and so did I. Had a very good conversation with the guys in the Chimera and supercharged elise. (spent so much) Loved the banter with everyone really, car enthusiasts are the nicest people around.

Here's some insight into that from a driver.

We did it that first year in the GT. As you say a nice year and whist there were problems, you could say it was a very good attempt. Entrants got better rates at a local hotel and 2 places in hospitality for each day.

Next year no special rates and only one place in the tea tent. Other places in the tent are £35 a day...hmmm. So now discounting getting the car up there and anything you do to it on the track there's another £600-£700 worth of expense for hotels etc.

I'll pass on that thanks, and have every year since.

If you're local it might work, but with the number of events available these days if you're lucky you can pick and choose.

Aha, interesting to read that...hence my comment on putting some of the £30 per head towards getting the good vehicles to come....

Must have been around the same time they started charging car clubs to display etc...

I spoke to the mechanic and it was a situation where he got on the throttle too early (Planted it whilst still on the bridge, instead of when you get on the solid ground), and, coupled with the slippery conditions, basically lost control.

Sorry I didn't get chance to see you, Dan. I had some tuition from Jann Mardenborough on the GT5 simulators. He talked me down 7secs a lap but I was still woeful.

Just got back. Brilliant walked over one of the bridges with a big smile on my face as a biker went underneath hanging onto a super moto for dear life. I tried to get a pic of the xj220 and missed it completely going to go next year and stay over with Jacko and his 944.
Liked the Brutus and the jag xfr trying to get sideways out of the chIcane.

Big thank you to the organisers

(I think) The XJ220 and XJ15 are owned by the Son in Law of one of my teachers from highschool. I've got a video of it going through the chicane.
