laugh It's the thought that counts!!

Anyone who donates 20p can have a quick go, will need to be quick though as the queue will be massive.

Seriously though, I'm only there to help!

Not this year, but I think Peter will be there in the M600 so he'll be in the same category as you.

Hope you have fun smile, just be careful of the tree (you'll know which one when you see it. wink).
Have been trying to find some vids to watch - doesn't seem to be many, guess I'll just suck it and see! Looks like rain all w/e now..... oh well!

This is about the best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwXn0uzXQq0

Just remember a 917 crashed in front of me on the straight just after the first bridge. Run off = zero.

So can we get in for £20 on the door with the discount code? And is there any specific entrance we should aim for if the privileged parking is on this year?

Looking at going on the saturday.

Deffo mate, meant to be going with a couple of girls who won't have a clue what any of the cars are so it would be good to be able to actually have someone to talk to who cares about cars hehe

Will ping you a facebook message nearer the time if we actually go. Meant to rain all weekend though...

Weather looks poor for Saturday - gutted. I can't get to Goodwood this year so was going to go to this instead - but not if it's pouring down.

Well my first time and already not impressed

First by the - no professional - photography and threat to confiscate 'film' (ffs film who uses film!) on the back of the ticket!
All feels very out of step with the blogging twittering and sharing of images that publicises a modern event free of charge for the organisers.
Just what are they trying to protect against - the royalties will be minimal for any images v the missed publicity of getting images out via the people who have the best network of media contacts.

Then a ticket in an envelop with no supporting information?

OK I am comparing it to Goodwood where photography is encouraged (I have looked and if its in the T&Cs its not obvious) and the ticket arrives with lots of additional information.

As i said first visit and I'm a motor sport fan who lives 30min away I'm hoping first impressions are not everything!

Just got 3 friends tickets for £20 each using the PH code PHPT.

01829 772432 is the number to call and the friendly lady will take your card details and arrange for your ticket to be available on the gate.

Who knows what they call 'professional Photography' that is my interpretation in fact the clause is probably much wider

to quote -

>>>>>>>>>>>

It is a condition of admission to these premises that photography, cine-film, video film, sound, or any other visual. or audio recording, or reproduction of the event, or part or parts of them for any (non-private) use including making copies of the recording/reproduction, causing or permitting it to be seen or heard in public, broadcasting, diffusing, selling, renting, exchanging, lending, using for gain or otherwise dealing with it in whole are part is strictly prohibited.

Furthermore The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and the BARC reserve the right to confiscate and retain possession of any films made in breach of this condition without their express consent in writing.

<<<<<<<<<<<

So the devil is in their interpretation of (non private) I have suggested professional i.e. getting money for an image, but reality is it could be read as 'its for your own personal use only and you must not show it to any one else'

for example 'causing it to be seen in public' could include posting an image taken at the event on
piston heads
Flicker
Facebook
an image on your personal web sit
or
Sending a instagram
Twitering a link to a video clip or even sound track

Are all prohibited by this clause.

But I think the chances of them stopping this are nil :-)

Therefore with including the 'confiscation' it would suggests that they intend to take action if they suspect you may be going to or be making images that you could sell - i.e. are using a professional looking camera.

On a separate issue - I would be interested in how they intend to legally confiscate and suspect the photographer would be asked to delete/hand over or leave.

I have asked for clarification - but as yet have had no reply

I think including this clause indicates that they are significantly out of step with social media today and make themselves look just silly, as any enforcement of the clause could result in damaging publicity.

We will see how its policed in practice this weekend!

Just started the set up for the Sporting Bears Dream Rides area, looking forward to a great event again and side stepping everyone who may or may not go because it may or may not be wet, dry, inclemant, everyone who does go will enjoy British Motorsport with all the added fun of the RAF helo displays, powerboats, army battle, club displays, fair, manufacturers displays and everything that is on the A49 near Crewe, Nantwich and Whichurch. I have just returned from an event on Goodwood Motor Circuit, we will be at CPoP and next weekend we will be at Supercar Event, regardless of travel time and weather, with around 20-30 great cars offering passenger rides to raise money for children charity. So for all of you that come along regardless of what the weather is, and people do every year, I thank you. Without your atendance we would not have an event in the North West to offer Dream Rides on this scale, as some of you look at the cars and donate and smile, wind rain or hopefully shine!!!!

SEE YOU THERE, come and find the Bears - just past the Army, donate and take a ride.

NEWSFLASH........very possibly Gallardo, Muirci and a Countach on Dream Rides!!!!!!!!

See you all there.

Max if SB want any flyers distributing, or posters displayed, the Lotus cluster is just past the bridge (Excels, Elites & Eclats on B32).

If we don't see you, one of us will pop down to pick up anything you want us to hand out.

I'm also on hand to walk some round Max.

Just need confirmation of what time you need me there. I am assuming 8am unless I hear otherwise?

Really really hope the weather holds out, still coming no matter what (got the tickets already) but would be nice for it to be sunny for a change. Going on the Sunday this year.
