Are non-TVR driving, non-Basingstoke residing, former TVR owning traitorous turncoats invited?

I should think that rather depends on what you're bringing!

Same here, but I don't think the natives bite. And if they don't talk to newbies you'll just have to put up with talking to me instead.

I reckon it's fine for newbies! We've had one previous pie+drive (as indicted by the title!) and that was my first PH event -- and the same for many others by all accounts.

Come along, you'll love it. (well, probably ) It's not often you get to drive great raods with interesting "traffic" both fore & aft.

As we live in Basingstoke AND have TVR we'll be there. Looking forward to it.

Don,

Rodders and I will hopefully be there with our two, it depends if rodders can get his power steering sorted out on his cerbie before hand. I am planning to bring my Tasmin though.

Thanks again for organising this!

Its excellent, the last one was my first PH meet and indeed TVR meet. Its very well organised, everyone is exceptionally friendly and being unfamiliar with the Hampshire countryside myself found the scenery to be lovely also.

Have fun!

Matt.

I'm blushing. Especially as on this occasion the guys with the ideas are whatever and Simont.

On the organisation front. Has everyone been able to view the maps and print them out if they need them? As usual I will print some copies and bring them along but it would be helpful if anyone who needed them already had 'em.

Really looking forward to it now.....

I would like to come along, but what reaction will I receive driving a non TVR?

I am a friendly chap, but any utterances of "max power" or "Barry boy" and I am off!

Well...

Its not all TVRs. I have invited our Porsche owning friends. I am expecting a particularly fine Marcos and a rather splendid Ultima GTR.

You are therefore most welcome along on the run! (If you want to drive all the over from Suffolk that is!)

I got asked this last time and...

Clearly the cars are an "attraction" at the Vernham Dean village fete. For "display" purposes at the far end its the exotica that will provide the entertainment. For that reason (and NO OFFENCE) if your not bringing something exotic you might need to park it up with the regular fete-goers.

If its an exotic (no cars in your profile for me to tell) then NO PROBLEM.

The PHers will largely be driving TVRs.

Up to you. But don't feel you can't come.

Well, I am originally from Hemel Hempstead so it isnt that far away.

I am all for TVR's, in fact I have wanted one ever since I was about 16, but I wouldnt call them (NO OFFENCE) exotica! Maybe the Tuscan though....

We've checked it out and neither my Chimaera or my Boxster had any trouble. My Boxster has a pretty low front skirt. There is ONE little hump I can think of near our photo-op that *might* cause *very* low slung cars a little trouble.

whatever will be taking his Cerbera over it so I think you should be OK. You will have the chance to check it over visually first anyway.

The actual run itself is (for the very most part) quality B road. We have deliberately avoided the *really* tiny little unclassified roads (some of which I took people down on the last Pie and Drive and it was OK!).

There are some bends with gravel on the side of them - so don't wander into it! Preserves everyone's paintwork!

The route is largely a scenic one - with some quick bits for a restrained bit of fun. Since we'll be in convoy anyway you can't really go at high speed. Its a relax and enjoy the day out job.

BTW: I'm sure a rare Porsche like yours would interest the fete-goers - it'd be great if you can make it!
