PH Sunday Service: Aston Martin St Athan 09/04

A familiar brand but an all-new location for PH's latest Sunday Service

We're excited to announce that our next Sunday Service will be in St Athan in South Wales, at Aston Martin's brand new facility. And although the facility isn't finished, we get to pitch up in one of the 'super-hangers', meaning it's an indoor event with space for hundreds of cars parked inside and possibly the first Sunday Service of its kind!

Our good friends at Aston Martin are putting on a pretty amazing day for you all, too - the heritage fleet will be on show along with 300 cars from the Owners Club Concours offering plenty of automotive goodness to gawp at throughout the day! It's most definitely a day for the whole family, too, with kids entertainers on hand to keep the youngsters, erm, entertained. We have space for 350 cars so make sure you sign yourself up to the calendar here to get a place on what is guaranteed to be a great morning.

It will take place on Sunday April 9 in St Athan, Wales, with the full address to follow soon. Aston Martin will have food and drink vendors on site too, but will accept cash only - you can't say you didn't know! There will also be displays from AM's key suppliers for your chance to buy merchandise, so you can buy PistonHeads and Aston Martin goodies to your heart's content. Aston Martin are designing tickets for us to send out, so keep an eye on your emails on the Friday before the event.

Sign up on the calendar here.

See you in Wales!

Aston Martin Sunday Service
When:
Sunday April 9, 0900h-1200h
Where: Aston Martin, St Athan, Wales

This is going to fill up fast! I can't decide whether to drive the 3 hours there in the morning, and spending the day exhausted, or staying at the Travelodge nearby.

Signed up.

Got a drag day the same day at Santa Pod, however if my car isn't rebuilt in time / running right then I'll either come to this or drop off the list.

Flying in to this event:

To anyone that might be interested, it is possible to fly into this event. The MOD need to be made aware on 01446798717, but as the airfield is MOD, you would need to be hosted by a civilian host, which at this location is Horizon Aircraft Services - 01446750284.

The landing fee is £11.80 and the handling fee is £30.00, all payable to Horizon on arrival.

More info on arrivals at www.raf.mod.uk/stathan/flyinginfo

Great, some of the PH Directors among us will get a chance to test the "fleet".

I noticed this on the AMOC website for their Concours event which is happening at the same time. It may be worth heeding the advice haha !

...a helpful suggestion.

May we suggest that your routing from the signing-in point to St. Athan be via the A48 and then left onto the B4226 towards Cardiff airport, rather than by the directions your Sat Nav will give you, as it may take you through narrow country lanes, past a farm where the sheep are herded on the public highway. It would pain us to see you removing sheep deposits from the tread of your tyres with your toothbrush on arrival in the hangars after all your hard work.

Anybody know if we would be allowed (as non-AMOC members) to visit the AMOC concours while we are there?

It's an active airfield so I suspect that will always be a no.
