Waiting for the start. There was debate over when to leave - as the sun is setting or when it has set and is out of sight.
Then coincidentally a few of us all arrived at The Buck fuel stop near Andover, 228 miles on.
But yah boo sucks, no sunrise, just the greyness getting lighter.

Is there any way to post videos here?

I was part of Team Blaine, and was driving the white Golf GTI. Some of my pics below.
It's a great event, good crack, not easy though. Absolute pleasure to be driving on roads that aren't full of numpties though. The worst bit was the 3 1/2 hour drive home straight after finishing.
Was funny to note that we had 3 hire cars on the run!

Just made it home an hour ago! 987 miles in total from yesterday at 5pm when I left home for Lands End.
Great to meet you all and share a good drive. I am now deaf, and have paid off the government's deficit via Shell petrol stations, but am very glad I did it!
I think it was brilliant that everybody made the sunrise in time and I loved the diversity of cars and routes, despite which we all arrived within 45 minutes of each other. Brilliant!
Thanks from me too to everyone for a great trip. What a lovely collection of cars and really good fun travelling together for parts of the journey. I wanted to have a closer look at the blue E36 (I think), but got distracted and didn't get a chance. It looked very cool indeed.
Wish I'd known that the Monaro has a 6 litre engine - that explains a lot!!
Thanks also to the BiB for only giving us a warning pass on the Hogsback. My niece had palpitations for a while after that (she was driving at the time). We were fairly sedate for a while ;-)
By the way, what's with the kamikaze wildlife on the A12? Birds, chicks, bambis all out for a dawn stroll along the white lines.... Sadly one of them didn't make it.

We had the same problem. We and another crew were 20 minutes apart and both saw the same huge deer just stood by the side of the road watching the cars go by. Must be a member here. Thankfully no furry critters had to die to allow us to get to our destination though.Hey guys!
Looks like everyone had a good run last night too! Here's my YouTube video of the experience! Hope y'all like it

Epic fun doing these trips.

Hi to Byf_biggy in the Golf taking the longer way through Lowestoft, Bluesgirl in the 911, Heebeegeetee the fellow MINI owner, and Don the fellow Mercedes owner with the lovely SLK - great chatting & many thanks indeed for the Merc servicing specialist recommendation.
It was very nice to meet everyone, and well done to all who made it to Ness Point though the night.
So, anyone up for a dawn to dusk Ness Point to Lands End, on December 21st or 23rd/24th...

The problem is it's very close to Christmas, lots of people pottering about, plus getting round London at 8/9 in the morning, I don't think there would be much chance of making it.It was very nice to meet everyone, and well done to all who made it to Ness Point though the night.
