I live here In The Lizard Cornwall. so easy start for me as from my place to Lands end 1 hour..
Ok traveling down guys be very careful before Bodmin Temple has road works and there are speed cameras and there liveAfter Camboren on the A30 there is a camera both ways it goes from dual to single but its still dual lane. We are away in Portugal and back on the tuesday but I am supposed to go to France on the Friday.. Christ that would be pushing the tired limits..
4 route come up for me *hr ,8hrs 16 and 8hrs 22, 8hrs 56
Have been wanting to do this for some time and we wont be here next year...

Could be a bit too much driving overall for me.

To get to Lands end from Cheshire area is 356 miles = 6h 15min
To get to Ness Point from Lands End 450 miles = 8 hours
To get home from Ness Point is 263 miles = 4h 43 mins
So totalling that lot up is around 1100 miles

But it would be a comfy Lexus auto

Lands End to Ness Point 450 miles, not difficult on a full tank.

Who's doing this on saturday 24th? Surely can't be just me!

I'm doing it all in one hit from Manchester, drive down saturday, do the run saturday night into sunday and then straight back home.

Did the same last year, it's not as tiring as it sounds.

It's the closest weekend to the 21st which is more convenient for some. The time to complete it is exactly the same (according to dateandtime). 21:35-04:30 on the 21st. 21:36-04:31 on the 24th.

I'm doing it on the 24th. :-)

I'll leave home in Sutton Coldfield early am Saturday, drive to Wadebridge Travelodge where I have paid for early check-in at noon, kip til about 5pm then drive to Land's End.

Not sure where or when I'm going to eat beforehand.

I'll be in an 04 MINI Cooper S, I reckon I'll have to refuel twice, they're thirsty little things.

I am still trying to work out the best plan... so far it is travel down on the Tuesday 20th, hotel overnight then in about the right place for the 21st. BUT, it means having a whole day to 'waste' on the 21st before starting at 21:30 at Land's End. Not sure I am any good at sleeping in the day. I don't think I am up for seven hour drive to get there, followed by another seven hours across, and seven hours back all in one stretch. Might checkout the facilities around Land's End for an evening meal before I go... makes it easy and maybe a bit let cheeky for getting down to the sign post for some photos before hand.

I will need to refuel at least once. Targetting just the otherside of Andover as I think that is about half way.

Intending to grab some video on the way... Having trouble with my GoPro. got a heated screen and the wires show up on the video if shot from inside the glass. Don't really want it on the outside as I need to run a power cable. Windscreen angle if very low, and the GoPro suction mount is turning in to a bit of a mare to get in a sensible place without just bonnet showing.

... And by then we will all have electric cars that won't have the range without stopping for a two hour charge smile
And probably regulated speed set at 30 mph for reasons of preservation of kittens.
It will just be like Minic Motorway!

Yeah we're having similar problems. We don't fancy forking out for a Airbnb or hotel for the Wednesday night so most places will chuck you out that morning meaning you have no base of operations for the day. Think a couple of us are gonna drive over Wednesday daytime and then just find somewhere to chill for a few hours before heading for Lands End. Finding somewhere for a power-nap would be handy!

Hey guys, first time poster just came across this site while looking for tips about doing the run on Google! I'm looking at going down from Sutton Coldfield Birmingham on the 20th staying over then doing the run on the 21st... should be a good run! Will be filming it for my YouTube channel too, anyone else going down on the same night let me know!

Welcome to Pistonheads (he says, myself being a relative newcomer).
All being well, I should be coming down from Staffordshire on the 20th to do the run on the evening of the 21st.
I don't have a YouTube channel, but hopefully if I can get the GoPro to stick to the window and not just give me a view off the bonnet, then I should get some footage too.

There is a poster on here keeping a list of who is going on each night. I guess he can add you so we know where we are.

Ooh a youtuber! Be nice to see some footage of everyone at either end on youtube!

Sounds like there's a few doing it on the 21st this year. I would assume that with quite a few doing it they wouldn't be too keen on several cars driving down to the actual point and we'd be better starting from the visitors centre carpark.
