My 3rd Year this year. Set off with my brother and our two sons in a Turbo S and an RS. Wonderful drive down and great event. Homeward bound we Arrived at Calais 2.45am Monday and took another happy photo

When it was our turn to get on the train the RS would not start. Tried everything. Turbo S left and my son and I waited. CHubb insurance were excellent. AS the recovery man arrived a porsche in a 911 turned up and offered us a lift to Birmingham. My son squeezed into the back and we were saved. My brother then then met us in birmingham and took us home. Thank you Chubb who who will soon repatriate the car and our hero Darren the 911 driver without whom i have no idea how we would we have got home that day got home that day. IF your reading this Darren - thank you.

I now await the return of my RS to find out what went wrong !!

So you saw it then. It did scrape a bit, sounded worse then it looked!! Car arrived home today so they dropped it straight at the garage. Back on the road soon - I hope!

We saw it being loaded. Made it further than my Boxster. Broke down on the M11 on the way to the tunnel. Had to do the rest of the journey crammed in the back of a 3 series!!!

Been there before, although not for some time now... It's a complete PITA at the time but all good fun for the next few years afterwards.. Although as I had a Ginetta back in the day it was a bit more of a where hadn't I broken down/stopped for a longer period of time than planned...

Well it's good that it's working but those sorts of issues can be an utter pain to fix.

Not sure how your immobiliser works, but is it possible there was something near where you were stopped blocking the immobiliser signal/code? I'm sure there was a thread a while back about how F355 owners were struggling at one particular service station with a similar issue.

I've has the same with a Subaru Forester at the local dump. Radio transmissions from local power distribution office next door blocked the signal. Had to push the thing down a ramp to get clear and then bingo, everything as normal.

Hope your issue is that simple and glad it's home safe.

Immobilisers on the New Range of Harley Davidsons started doing that not many years ago, so you would end up pushing it away from certain antennas etc, but still a pita
