Surrey Meet 4 - 11am, Sunday 3rd Sep, Fairmile Pub, Cobham
Discussion
Owned by Traxx's Mate (Tim, I think).
I believe the rear bodywork came from the US and was installed by Design911, who may have also painted it.
The front is a little different from the race cars as it retains the pop ups (think the car had the flat nose when he bought it) to be road legal.
It's an NA 911 under there, think it will become turbo, one day. Not sure about the brakes/ dampers etc but the exhaust sounded fruity!
Those rear wheels looked so wiiiiiiiiiiide!

Which was the really loud 911 that headed back towards Cobham with the other 911?
Point taken, although I'd like to reassure you that some of the biggest offenders in both categories are in fact men who act like children (as seen at many a previous non-PH gathering)!
Considering what the rest of this forum can be like at times, it's refreshing to see folks like yourselves out and about. Until next time!

fanboys and scene kids!
There's probably something to do with us having a higher average age at PH meets. Considering what the rest of this forum can be like at times, it's refreshing to see folks like yourselves out and about. Until next time!
I seem to remember it being the white GT3 that gave it the beans but most made a good effort to liven up the Portsmouth Road
GT3 certainly seems to sound more 'menacing' than the GT4, perhaps not surprisingly.
But I still think the GT4 is one of the best looking/ proportioned cars out there at the moment. Something very 'right' about it.
Might stick a poll up for an October meet, to see who is up for it... Just don't want to get the pub's hopes up if it's bucketing down.
An indoor meet just wouldn't be the same, sadly.

I popped down to the Grasshopper Inn after missing the September Fairmile meet due to work commitments.
Some musings below:
Some beautiful cars, favourite being a "Dirty Martini" - Porsche 911 in Martini livery - but with faux dirt/rust (think it had cards for the Automotive Artist whom had done the spray job)
"Lifted" older Mini (looked like it had Suzuki underpinings with an older Mini body ported on top)
Lovely pair of RS6's turned up just as I was leaving.
Think it's more a meet for the "who had the loudest exhaust" Pop'n crackle brigade (each to their own and all that) 1 x d&4k head whom spun his 5 series diesel when leaving the car park (don't forget this is a family restaurant as well)
Probably wouldn't bother going again however.

Was at this one myself and echoes my thoughts entirely. Thankfully I left long after you and before this started happening (bar the E39 mentioned), considering what looked like the local farmer shaking his head from the opposite side of the road I figured the police weren't far away and the chav content was a little high: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LJz4yIGH1Y&t=... - all a bit off but skip to 0:28 for examples of the worst. Some musings below:

There were however some nice cars there, also loved the "worn" martini wrapped cayman but some of the classics were also spot on, the old Cougar and Escorts etc.
After seeing GTR's M4's being bounced off the limiter for minutes at a time a friend and I (both Lotus's) decided to head elsewhere for a pint and catch up (where we could actually hear each other)

Thanks chaps. Very pleased with the reaction I got and from you. Made it worthwhile.
And thanks to Alex for the welcome.
Have to say I didn't really 'get' the loud bang bang popping of the Audis and BMWs. Is this new?
Always up for an unsociable exhaust but this sounded like someone hitting a metal dustbin with a stick. wtf etc.
