For reasons I won't bore you with, I could not get to see an off-roading event. As I returned home I was held up by a few classic cars: a Triumph Roadster, the driver of which kindly moved over on a straight, an old Ford, so slow that there was no need to move over, and a broken down MG Y-type. I saw the signs for a classic transport show at Amberleigh and decided to give it a go. There were over a hundred vehicles on display, including some expensive cars and run of the mill old stuff, some of which I'd owned. There was an intriguing selection of stationary engines as well. All for £12.

I noted that there was a Classic Land Rover day the following Sunday, yesterday, and I wandered along to see around 90 classic Landys.

The coffee was repulsive, really evil, but apart from that both days were great. It was easy to talk to owners and ask them questions. Most were a bit nerdy, so just what one wants. And all for a bargain price. The narrow gauge railway and classic bus were free to ride on if the mood took you.

A bargain.

I'm going to check out their programme next year.
