I'm thinking of going this year. I don't want to do an all-in package so I'd probably book a hotel and the closest I can see are about a half an hour drive from the circuit. I'll only go on the Sunday as it's part of a general visit I'm doing. So, any advice on getting to the circuit, where to park, hotels, where to buy a Sunday general admission ticket from and a rough idea of price. Thanks in anticipation.

We're making the trip this year, staying in Spa Town so about 6 miles from the circuit.

Also looking for advice re tickets and viewing areas if anyone can help.

I assume it's worth getting into the viewing lounge looking on to Eau Rouge?

As far as I know, tickets still not on sale.

Is it a hotel you're staying in or with some friends? Good result getting in the "city". We found rooms in one of the hotels a tour operator uses - about half an hour from the track. We're doing a couple of days touring around France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany before the event

BTW, didn't we correspond over hotels in Angouleme a couple of years ago?

Evening....

Yes we did! I remember now, didn't get a chance to meet up, but could change that at Spa?

We booked in Spa via booking.com, two bed apartment for three nights £340... Bargain!

Looking to book tickets and lounge overlooking Eau Rouge, having a proper look at the weekend I suspect.

I have received my tickets now and noticed that you can buy 3 day parking for the event for the modest price of 10 euros. How heavily clogged might the roads be entering and leaving the circuit? We would be approaching from the northeast via. Malmedy on the N681 to the N62.

All booked up now including track laps driving

Parking is free if you're in a classic...apparently a 911 qualifies....so we will be there in 2 x 997's from Friday afternoon.

Looking forward to this now biggrin

Good to hear. So will you be parked up with the "Happy Few" and not the Porsche club? Three of us will be there but only 2 in the HF parking, a silver GTR and a Skyline S1. Would be good to meet up.

Strewth this has zoomed up...it's next week!

We're going over on Friday morning either in a pair of 911's or thinking about making the trip in our little S1 Lotus Elise....not sure yet. Would love to take the Elise, however packing for 5 days might be a struggle....

We'll be there from Friday around 4pm, not sure if we will be at the track until Saturday morning though..

We are in session 5 track laps around 7pm ish...frantically looking at lap videos of Spa now yikeshehe

Anyone else going this year?

Four of us in a black Evo 8 travelling from Zeebrugge on Friday morning. We're aiming to be at the track early afternoon.

I went about 3 years ago, and found it to be amazingly accessible. I stayed about 10km outside of Spa, and just drove in every day, paid and parked with no waiting or queueing.

Arrived back on Monday evening, sorry we didn't get a chance to meet at the event...the weekend just flew by with so much going on.

Did track laps in session 5 on Saturday evening, Eau Rouge was just incredible to peddle through at speed, the experience was well worth it. Already have plans to go back for a full open pit track day.

We found the whole event really well organised, the paddocks were great to wander around, there's loads of places to view from and getting round the track was easy.

Definitely worth a visit for any motorsport fan, not as much there as at the Le Mans Classic, but in a way it makes you watch the racing a bit more.

May be going to Angouleme again in September, you never know...if you're there.....we may actually meet up?! thumbup

Yes, it's a shame we didn't get a chance to meet up. We had a great 2 days driving the roads around the local area and into Germany, then spent Saturday at the track. Sunday, one of the guys wanted to take his Nissan S15 to the Nurburgring so we drove over there. Disappointly they wouldn't allow him on the track as he had a detachable steering wheel. banghead He hadn't read the fine print before leaving. Oh well, next time with a fixed wheel.

Don't think I'll make Angouleme this year.
