One of our party this year has dropped out. trouble is he's the lead name on one of the ferry tickets. Can the named passengers travel without him (so two on a ticket for three) or do we have to cancel and lose deposit or pay the 50 quid transfer fee? Coming back from le havre last year the French didn't care who was on what ticket but suspect Portsmouth may be different.

We had someone drop out on the day a couple of years ago and it wasn't a problem but as you've got plenty of time you could always contact them and amend the passenger list?

Passengers aren't a problem..this is the main driver, the person that bought the ticket. All his passengers are going but he isn't. Sods law the main name is the one thing that can't be changed.

I arrange the travel and tickets in my group, I always take a deposit off everyone who’s going which when booked is non refundable, if names on the passenger list need changing it pays for it.
Doesn’t answer your question I know.
The ferry from Portsmouth is quite stric, we use it every year.

You should be able to get the lead passenger changed.
However.... last year we travelled without the lead passenger, he was working and got the Eurostar over, I was forewarned and said he’d been knocked of his bike and was in a and e. The ferry person changed me to lead and was all ok.
