Electric scooters rules in France?

Quick question if anyone might know - do the French treat stand on electric scooters like bicycles or mopeds? Trying to work out if drink/ driving applies on one on the back roads during Le Mans.
Ive got a 6 mile round trip to do on the Saturday night- could use a manual one if needs be

I'd have thought they were classed as motor vehicles. Certainly mini-motos are so need to be registered/licensed/insured for use on the road - leading to the amusing site of a man bent double pushing a mini-moto back to his campsite while the le plod who had stopped him crawled along behind him in a car to make sure he didn't just jump back on as soon as out of sight I saw at Le Mans a number of years back.

Thanks for that, sounds like the view ive heard. Thats a funny story!!
Im on the back roads around Mulsanne, no cars but lots of plod monitoring things, and keeping my road one way. I need to come back against the one-way system drunk...no problem on a push scooter

I don’t know the answer for certain, but I would be surprised if it was.

There are a whole series of vehicles in France and Spain classed as “Sans permit” literally without license. These can range from 4-wheeled cars (quadra-cycle) to scooters so I would be surprised if electric scooters would not pass, provided they have lights etc.

More importantly, would you really risk your own life scootering down country roads absolutely pissed?

Getting banged-up for the night surely has to be safer?

What could possibly go wrong?

Smart choice would be to walk or get a taxi. A push scooter isn’t going to be a lot faster than walking anyway, especially if you’re ‘beurré’

Thanks to Google maps ive found some sneaky tracks through the forest that drop the route to under 2 miles each way. Tried a push scooter, even at only 10mph thats less than 15 minutes...no problem.

Ive walked those roads on 2 different years, never saw a single car, but did come across a lot of police.
Push scooter will take up less space in the car too.

Will do. It'll be fine...not like there's anything solid to hit. I did say without lights right? Should be fine...oh wait a minute...ha!

Survived far more crazy things than jogging pace on a push scooter on a track with no cars
