The HSCC have just released their provisional 2026 calendar.

The Silverstone Classic will take place on the weekend of 25-26 July.

Also, the Oulton Park Gold Cup moves back to its traditional August Bank Holiday slot (29-31 August): -

Good news.
Thanks for posting that.
Yes, that's really good news, for both events.

OK, positive news there.

I've been going every year to the Silverstone Classic since 2008 / 2009. And this is the first year I didn't bother, as since Silverstone took it over and tried to make it a bit of everything it's been deteriorating (line-ups worse, car club attendance worse, viewing/photography points worse, prices worse).

From some of the comments above (Group-C joke top of the list) I'm glad I didn't, but if they ARE splitting the 'family festival' nonsense out then that might be positive news for the July event...although knowing Silverstone I doubt they'll do anything useful with the pricing.

Ref Goodwood vs Silverstone, I'd agree that it's not the FoS to compare it to (too corporate now, too crowded and possibly slightly the wrong crowd...although I'd be the last to be elitist - more thinking of the non-petrolhead who either thinks it'll be a laugh of a day-out, or the rich non-petrolhead who just wants to drink and 'be seen'), but more the Festival and the Members Meeting. And in terms of line-up and spectating, Goodwood is still the best. Just a shame it's so much bloody money and right near the south coast.

Think I might have to pony-up and give the MM a go next Spring...not sure I can be arsed to cosplay at being my grandad for a weekend just so I don't look out of place at the Festival...
