Geoff,

Firstly, welcome to PH.

In terms of do's and dont's on runs..
Do have fun
Don't worry too much about not knowing anyone.

In all seriousness, we're a pretty friendly bunch who tend to 'look after' each other on runs.
if you see the person behind get stuck at lights or get left behind, then wait for them..the person in front should do the same.

It's not about all out speed....more a friendly jaunt around some of the nicer driving roads in the area.

This run is an early start with some fun before breakfast. gives everyone the choice to do as they please for the rest of the day.

There also tend to be be mini meets around london who then convoy down to the start point of a run like this.

well said this will be my first run with the car guys here so was wondering what the crack was too!!!

have led and been on a few bike rideouts in my time but this will be a first in the car!!!!

hope i can keep up in my old girl!

It's all common sense stuff that you'd do on any drive:

Don't drive beyond your limits or put any other drivers or members of the public at risk.

On such a complex route it's useful if you try to look after the guy behind you. If he starts to disappear in your mirrors it's good convoy etiquette to ease off and let them catch up before the next turn. If everybody does the same thing then it's difficult to lose people.

We've got a mini convoy heading up to the meet from the southcoast, Petersfield McDonalds 5am ish to get up to Junction 10 for 6am, theres a thread on the southcoast site. If you can't make it some of the Bornmouth boys are looking to have a run up from the southwest

thanks but tbh i'll be struggling to get up early enough to make J10 by 6am...let along petersfield by 5am


i'll see you guys at Oakham common 6am...that way i can just hit the M3/M25 set the "autopilot" and get in the back and have a sleep
