There is a cafe bar at the circuit that serves the usual tea, coffee and light snacks etc and would seem the obvious place to meet up earlier. 2 ish sounds fine to me, I will speak to the circuit management to make sure there is someone there to serve us at around that time.

Hi guys, sorry I've not posted much today but I've received some bad news regarding my car (involves major, major repair which I'm struggling to justify re the new business and all). So apart from one thing and another, I've got to cancel my social calender for a while. This includes the Karting I'm afraid. I know I've lost the deposit and anyone is welcome to take my place. Have fun.

Personally I'm looking forward to being up against some drivers that are way better than myself. It tends to get a bit boring at social karting functions when everyone else has to be reminded which pedal does what.
I think it will be quite healthy for me to be humbled a bit by some truly talented drivers - roll on 2nd March!

Right, I will be bringing a few goodies to the event for prizes, but does anyone want me to bring some stuff to buy (in case you don't win!)? No P&P to pay etc

I might be there as a spectator (plus I get to meet some of you good people)
I don't know what Ted or whoever is organising it has done apropos directions / map but if you mail me off list I'll happily knock a GIF file out of AutoRoute for you.
WRT somewhere to meet beforehand, if you take the roundabout between Abbey House and the Charles Schwab building and head up towards the "Central Shopping Area" there's plenty of pubs etc up there, and parking outside so you can keep an eye on your collective P & J's.
There's a Chiquitos as well, but bear in mind that you'll be sitting on your butt for a few hours

Glad enthusiasm is still high, i have no idea if there is a reserve list of drivers. If anyone else has had to retire from the event please put a message up and maybe we can fill the spaces with reserve drivers.
There are some directions further down this thread or you could try www.daytona.co.uk
look forward to seeing you all on saturday!

Sounds like there's some confusion over the "social" rendezvous. Would be nice to get as many as possible together in the same place (even though I may only know 1 other!). As no-one has yet stated that the track cafe is rubbish, or come up with a clearly superior alternative, shall we go for that? And folks that manage to find a nice pub - drag yourselves down to the cafe in plenty of time before suiting-up (say 2.30)?
Better suggestions welcome, but some consensus would be grand!
Cheers again to Tony for the admin-age.

Just spoken to James Crofts who unfortunately can't make it due to a death in the family. James has done us proud though and roped in Simon Pullan to race. So if any of you racers reckon you're any good, now's the time to prove it. Let's try an avoid any carnage in the process though!
